I've been reading up on a conversion kit and there isn't. The receiver would require tooling in order for it to work, which is why nobody makes conversion kits.

I'm surprised these aren't regularly stocked.

I’ve handled one of the patrol ones and wasn’t impressed with the quality. I have a ruger American rimfire and it’s great

I bought an American for $399 new a few years ago...how are they $800 now? They do not belong in the $800 bracket, hell the RPR's are not much more when they go on sale.

The barrel is shorter and it uses a generic mag both of witch should lower the production cost, so I think the baby-poop dye they mix for the stock is very rare and expensive! I have one in 7.62x39 that uses mini 30 mags it was 649.99 at canadian tire spring 2019 love the gun but its over priced for the quality.

I didn't know the 7.62x39 version of this would accept the mini 30 mags as well? Wow, good to know

Its about commonality and cheap mags instead of $50 proprietary crap. Pistol mags aren't huge either.

I am wanting a bolt action in 5.56 that can also accept the LAR mags and decided on the Ruger American Ranch but I cant seem to find them anywhere in Canada. I was wondering if someone knew where I could get one of these. I see that most carry the version with the flush mags but not the AR-Style mags. The one I want is model #26965 vs the flush model version being model #6965.

I have one of the last ones before they stopped importing them due to being shipped with an unpinned Pmag. Which could have been solved with a stupid rivet. Heard Ruger had to develop a new sku or something. Seems from the posts below they are trickling in finally. I absolutely love mine. It is a tackdriver.

also having a bunch of spare mags already without having to buy more gun specific spare mags. I just got on the reserve list with Prophet River for their next shipment.

The AR mag version or the regular one? I see the regular one on sale for under $500 in Canada all the time.
I dunno, I went through 2 of the regular ones at $399, just couldn't stand the brutal machining and cheapest of cheap stocks, sold them fast. Thought the machining on the first one was a Friday rifle, bought another and same thing. From my experience, they are not even a $400 rifle. $800 just because it uses $25 10 round LAR mags somebody might already have, doesn't really seem like a money saver to me.
