Ruger repair

Because of all the horror stories from myself and others regarding this. Waiting for months, contacting them and finding they forgot to order the parts, months later you contact them again and they can't find your work order....etc etc. it's painful. Then get talked to as if you are just an inconvenience.

I'm sure if you are just ordering something they have in stock, like a new stock or something it's just like any other retail transaction, but service is a different matter.

I've used them twice and haven't had an issue so was just curious why people are bad mouthing them on this forum.

None were warranty issues... never had the need with Ruger.

Right on, I was joking around.... :)

On an even less serious note, you should seriously consider acting as an agent for Snapshot, people could get you to place the order and you could charge a small fee.

If snapshot could up their success to your rate they would be way ahead of the curve...... :)

It sure would be nice if we could just ship guns back to their birthplace instead of thousands of miles in the wrong direction..... I really do think IRG might be on to something with their latest service offering.

Who knows maybe Trump can further reduce the import-export fees and hassles for American companies providing service to Canadians.

I can walk into a car dealer and drive away with a band new car in less than an hour. Getting warranty work done on that car is a much different process.

Same as dealing with Snapshots. ;)

Am I the only one that had a good experience with them? They repaired my firearm and took about 3 weeks door to door.

I've only bought parts from them, at the minimum they were OK, very good at the top. Decent advice and customer service. This is Canada, keep your expectations realistic.

People need to be realistic for sure getting gun parts in Canada and service from gunsmiths. It can take time to get parts etc and gunsmith's can be busy.

Poor communication and blaming the other guy (Ruger or by the sounds of it some customers) is less excusable then a long wait.

Needed an obscure part for my .22 single six. Snapshots was by then not the Ruger agent, but found the part in their remaining stock. I was happy.
New Ruger agency is Gravel Agence in Quebec. Problem with my .17 HMR ss. Took a looong effen time, mostly to do with getting the part through customs. I was worried, but it'll be back this week. On Warranty! I'm ecstatic!

It's possible that half of the time Snapshots is able to satisfy warranty claim or customers in a timely fashion.... it's the other half when the wheels fall and their ineptitude shines brightly.

This. My luck with any warranty issues from any manufacturer who has their repair services in QC hasn't been great. Browning back in the day was good, but that slid too. - dan
