number and letter punches are on sale at Princess Auto for like $3 per set right now, you could always grind down the electropencil, and restamp it yourself, then its 100% vintage! ;)

Ok, it's a 1953 refurb, the stock is nice, just a couple scratches. It's kind of growing on me now, I've been sitting here holding it on my lap.... i was just thrown off by the mag numbers. I like the putting my own numbers on. lol. Ok, I am a big baby. lol. I am trying to take pics but i am verrrry bad at it.

it sounds like they are doing what frontier have done , hedge their bets and ordered from both bell and IZH so ofcos IZH would be higher price . we have to wait for more details on pricing , i already spoke to them and its $214.99.
 
Are there any legal issues, if I were to take my dremel and grind about 1mm off the pin in the mag of my 52? I see today, it wont actually hold 5 rounds as the pin is slightly too long. (this also happens to be the mag that doesnt push the bolt holdback up enough to do its job)

What kind of stock? Arctic birch?
 
Did anyone else get one with no cosmo in it?

I only had a bit in the bottom of the magazine. Everything else was perfectly clean and oiled. Great shape. I almost feel ripped off that I didn't get to de-cosmo it. LOL! 1953r Tula.

###'d out stock X1 and everything else had stamped match except gas tube which was electropenciled. Blade was bright and shiny. Front site is waaaay over to the right like some of the others mentioned here. I am very happy with it.

Anyone else get one with no cosmo in it?

sigh...I guess I have to order another one. :redface:

I started off in this thread originally knowing about ONE offer from SIR for $165. Then I ordered one from Frontier `just in case` the order from SIR didn`t come in. A few weeks ago, I bought one from Milarm because I was getting impatient about the Frontier order. NOW, I am about to call SIR and order another, because it may be better quality than the one I originally ordered. :runaway:

And along the way I managed to pick up 3 cases of ammo `just in case` there was a short supply. :)

Its your gun you are free to do what ever you want with it , Only thing you can't do legally is shorten the barrel less than 18.5" make the mag hold more than 5 rnds or reduce overall length to 26" or less

i just checked mine tonight.
the mag only holds 4 rounds.
oh well,i'll do a little "bubba" on it...
