do you have the real shipping number that starts with S? thats the only number that got proper updates when I searched on DHLs site. the NET# never updated, and the DNK# updated but was delayed 45 minutes to an hour from the S#

That sucks val. I hope you make a big stink! I'm so sick of what seems to be non existant customer service these days. It seems like everyday I've got to call a company and ask them just wtf they are doing. (phone companys, iternet companys, shippers, etc)

On a brighter note, my sks is close, but it's coming by mail and I ordered ammo too. Hope I dont have to call someone to ask why I didnt get ammo lol.

Well, they found it, I should get it tomorrow. Apparently it was put aside because it was a firearm. Tomorrow I have to work allllll day.Waaaaah! I hope it's nice!

I thought DHL had the worst customer service on earth, when I was just dealing with their call center (which is based in Vancouver)

once I actually went to the local office, they were super helpful..... maybe its a Vancouver thing, as I've noticed any time I go to the lowermainland, I get terrible customer service everywhere I go, and am treated rudely.
 
So how would you determine if a gun had never been issued?

Mine looks pretty nice on the outside, a few blemishes on the stock finish, and on the receiver cover. Won't have time for an internal inspection till this weekend.

By the way, I found out about the handselect option and the required order confirmation just by a lucky visit to their (Frontier's) website. I'd almost forgotten I put in an order last May. They could really do a better job of communicating with those that have put in orders and left their credit card info.

sorry if its been mentioned on one of 350 pages of posts, but i just called SIR and they're still waiting for SKSs to show up ?!? i ordered on march 5, 08. did anyone receive theirs from SIR who ordered after that date ?

Here is what I was just told: "We are still waiting for the delivery of the SKS rifles to our warehouse. We are sorry for the inconvenience. We recently had to change distributors. Please feel free to check back with us again in a few weeks. thank you"

Coudl the change to US ownership (Cabela's), mean a required change in sources?
 
Just got my 1953 all matching except forced stock shooter grade.
Non chromed lined barrel, Although I cant see frosting or pitting.

Trigger group isnt exactly crisp like the Norinco I had, but looks nice.
Super dark or almost black finish............took her down all ready.

I dont know what to do about the oil. Do you guys strip the stock down to bare wood and refinish with stain and tun or linseed oil or whats the protocol, I always stripped stained and oiled my stocks.

i will be attached to the red rifles . with the increase of activity cos by the russian SKS and soon the T97 and then followed by new VZ58, i figured i would be most helpful here .

oh , i almost forgot ... im looking forward to working with Stevo and RobAk .... thanks

Well I guess you really are Mr T now . Maybe you could free up a lot of space by using your new found powers & deleting a lot of the useless posts in this thread .
