Russian SKS45 long thread.

All right!!! I am all done! It is now truly mine. All cleaned and oiled. Much better. Now to decide what to do about the stock.... But not tonight I gotta sleep! Thanks for the links Smartbomb.

What are you thinkin for the stock? i decided to tapco mine. I know some people are not going to share my sentiment about the tapco but i figure itll preserve the original one and itll be way nicer to shoot like that. I bought a norinco gas tube from lever so i didnt damage the ruski. It looks pretty awesome bubba'd though

I am just going to refinish the wood somehow. I bubba'd my Norinco already. It's awesome! lol.

Not sure if I like the looks of Frontier's packaging... is it only that corrugated paper? I think it should be newspaper/bubble wrap and cardboard at the very minimum. Make no wonder people are getting fresh dings.

Fry, it is solid enough, with foam blocks on the projecting parts and wrapped around 3-4 times it is more solid than some boxes I have seen.
Mine came roughly halfway across the country; SK to QC, and not a scratch on it.

Does anyone know why DHL screwed up so badly. i.e. Ammo not being delivered etc, etc,. I just found out that the ammo I was expecting is not coming because DHL had a problem with it somehow.

Besides the fact that DHL basically sucks. Anyone know the specifics of their issues?

x2 on the packaging from frontier. The foam blocks on all the high spots. Wrapped in plastic around the muzzle and butt. Then wrapped in corrugated cardboard in a piece big enough to go around 3-4 times. Then covered again in plastic. I thought it was solid and well protected.
