Yeah, Curtton is tops in my book right now. The other day I didn't know if I should hug him or strangle him (like I needed any more SKS's.)

For ammo, you're probably best giving CanAm a call (unless you've got somebody local selling cheaper.)

If you can afford it buy several cases of Czech ammo. The stripper clips they come on are the best too! Much better than the Chinese ones.

did they charge your credit cards or they wait until rifles arrive ? i had to send them my credit card info, but payment was not processed, i am now wondering if there is a problem.

well, i ordered the hand select from frontier, i said i would take it and i am sticking by that.

i am sure some with get great rifles from SIR and others will get dogs.

You can still get a dog.There is no way Marlin is going to clean out, all the Cosmoline, to check eack rifle that carefully.My bet is you are going to get the first gun that comes out of the crate.It's still techniquely, hand select, even if he doesn't look at it.My bet is the is not much difference betwwen any of them.Just refurbished Tula's.These guns are not cherished heirlooms.Just plain old shootin irons.Get a cheap one , and shoot the hell out of it.

SIR has now removed the type 56 from their site.

Just put my order in this AM (late to the party). Number 275 on the list. Was told that I have no guarantee that I'll get one in 'this shipment' (wasn't aware there were multiple shipments??). Apparently SIR put in an order for 700 units but they have no guarantees that they will get that many. The numbers on this mysterious shipment just keep on shifting (quantity, arrival date) - glad I don't have to pay upfront.
 
Was just at SIR this afternoon to see if they had any of chinese type 56's kicking around, no luck. I think I pissed off they big guy there that can't take 2 steps without sucking for air. He tried to get me to leave a deposit for a gun that may or may not come in by "June or July":slap:.
Then his buddy jumped in, and tried to make the sale!!! I just told them I'll check back in june, as it's just a toy, I don't want one that bad and I'd rather pick up a brick of 22lr to keep myself busy in the mean time:D I think he "got it" cause all he did was grin.
 
I just got off the phone with the nice lady at SIR. My order was received March 3, and I'm #200. :D

For those above #250, there may be good news. The total number of rifles ordered by SIR is 600, and they expect to receive 400 (if not the full 600) in the first shipment (currently expected in June).
 
Has anyone received any feedback or comment from Marlin wrt to the disparity in pricing? Do we know if he's aware of it? (SIR vs Frontier)?
