Russian vs Chinese Manufacture

i on the other hand have both but prefer my chinese 1965 , why? cos the 65 reminds me what the russian looks like before the black paint refurb , nice workmenship and bluing.

check out the two trigger groups. 65 on top.

well, i have a different opinion why the quality decreased, it was the vietnam war . in 65 the US increased their ground forces from 20,000 to 200,000 in that one year and china was the main supplier of small arms to vietnam so it was a matter of quality vs. quantity.

oh really? I'd always thought the Soviets were the main supplier. That's the ultimate irony though; after the US retreated, the Sino-Vietnam conflict started.

you better read up on your history , :D:D:D

russian mostly supplied the big stuff like missiles and jets, and china mostly supplied the smaller stuff like food , small arms and ammo .

"You see, these weapons are Russian Simonov's, not the Chinese Type 56 carbines mostly used in Vietnam."

ah HA, in my face!

lol i stand corrected, probably got confused between "biggest supplier in terms of value" vs. "biggest supplier of small arms".

Now that I think about it, it does make more sense; since the shipping cost of transporting small arms from Soviet Russia to Vietnam would've been nuts.

Cost?
That's a Capitalist idea, Commies just make the people pay the bill. :D

modified quote from lord of war
"Of all the weapons in the vast soviet arsenal nothing was more profitable than Samozaryadnyi Karabin Sistemi Simonova Obrazets 1945, more commonly known as the SKS-45, or Simonov. It's the worlds most popular assault Carbine, a weapon all fighters love. An elegantly simple nine pound amalgamation of forged steel and plywood, it doesn't break, jam, or overheat. It will fire whether it's covered in mud or filled with sand. It's so easy even a child could use it, and they do."

Treat all surplus ammo like it's corrosive and that you don't have a chrome lined barrel.
Which means... clean it after shooting.

I think the chrome lined barrel may give you a little breathing room if you forgot to clean the gun. But I don't think it's something that you should let happen often.
