Sad news about my shotgun

The following topics will not be tolerated. Violation will result in immediate and permanent suspension. Some quasi legal/ grey/downright illegal examples that are specifically not tolerated are:

1 Shipping and driving items to Canada from the US that require US export permit.

2 Discharging firearms in places where firearms are not allowed to be discharged.

3 Manufacture or use of flammable and explosive substances or “tracer” projectiles.

4 Unblocking 5 rd magazines to regular capacity.

5 Swapping non-restricted barrel for restricted barrel at gun range.

6 Home made firearms with illegal or misleading markings. For example, marking a chunk of metal with "Valmet 78".

7 Solicitation of unregistered firearms or magazine kits.

8 No postings of any materials that could be likely considered as investment advices. Investments include financial instruements, real estates and anything deemed to be reasonable by the operator of CGN.

These rules are here to ensure that CGN will be the premium firearms site for law abiding Canadian gun owners.

Careful what you post gents...especially if it is in jest, some might not find it so funny or cheeky .

Considering some companys ship certain parts without export licenses here one would have to find out if said part was legal to export. Ive had parts mailed across clearly stating what they are and they arrived fine after passing thru both usa and canada customs. Parts that are said on the great cgn to be illegal to ship or bring out if the states.
Even so many companies like simpson ltd will ship parts for $50 a line if under $500. Prove its illegal to export when major companies do it routinely.

Has anyone even looked up that this part is ITAR controlled?

The vast amount parts i have ordered from Tandem cross you would think the majority would not be allowed to be shipped to Canada without an export license ?

I beg to differ

I personally would not worry about about ordering a cocking arm from anywhere worldwide

CZ USA thinks they can get the part but cant ship it to Kanada. Corlanes talked to Wolverine and they cannot source the part as these guns were imported by CZ USA.

Have you considered trying to source the parts from elsewhere? CZ is a large international company and you may be able to acquire the part directly from them or one of their parts distributors outside of North America. I've often ordered items out of Europe that I couldn't get from the U.S.A. due to their laws.

I have read more than one story online, of people who have obtained parts from Huglu, directly from Turkey.
It's worth a shot. If an e-mail doesn't work, a telephone call around the world costs only pennies these days.

You are in the same boat as most owners of old shotguns, even those made by top brand names. There are no parts.
If you want to fix it, the solution may come down to repairing the broken part or fabricating a new part.

Maybe I overstated some of the rules of CGN as a reminder to those who wish to bend rules of a foreign nation .
One of the comments was "Something as small as a cocking arm id surely risk it. Even if found do you think the customs agent would know what it was?"
Sounds a little risky offering some advice without knowing if it was good 2 go or not.
Your free to do as you wish, me I'll look it up before offering such advice .
Tight Groups,

Send it to an actual gunsmith, not someone who just changes parts.

I thought I had. So I am going to try the following

1) Email Huglu
if that does not work I will
2) Take the part to a machine shop and get a quote or
3)fab the part myself. Like I said I have a fairly well stocked shop for making knives. A tonne of 01 and 1095 and all the tools and equipment necesarry to turn a piece of round 1" stock into a folding knife.

Thanks for the input and being a shoulder to cry on.

Thats what i am going to do. I make knives (True blacksmith knives, start with round 01, heat, beat repeat, grind) so copying the old one should not be too much trouble. Just took me by surprise that "gunsmiths" can't fab a part and that you cannot access parts in this country for a fairly common shotgun. Worst case scenario its a single shot with built in cigar or dog treat carrier.

I hope that you'll be taking pictures of the process, fitment and final results of this project. Sounds tantalizing!

Its not customs you're worried about. It's a department of homeland security checkpoint you'd have to worry about, they set up just before the border and if they catch you it's do not pass go, do not collect $200...

this. I have been asked twice at these checkpoints.

If emailing someone in Turkey... It might be worth your while to use Google-Translate and include a "Turkish" text in your email...
- Even though the translation will probably be crude, it will be appreciated by the random guy (or gal) that first receives the email.

If CZ USA cannot help you, have you checked with CZ in the Czech Republic?

I thought there was a $100 US exemption on gun parts from the US? Huglu makes many guns for other companies, I’m sure this part is not just exclusive to the CZ model and is used by many other brands, surely it should be available somewhere. I can’t see why you should not be able to order directly from Europe, the export permit BS is only required from parts from the US.

Are you trying to make sens of gun laws?

Don't feel too bad. I can't find a sight for my '90's Remington 870! Sold out everywhere & declared obsolete.
