The case was $95, a bit expensive, so I bought two. lol. You can see it here:

Let me know if there`s anything I can do to help with setting up (yeah right, all the way from Winnipeg) or if there is anything in particular you`d like to to bring. Like I mentioned before I`m hoping to arrive around 5-6pm so save some work for me.

And Tripalm. If you`re worried about food you can always eat what you kill. I promise I won`t laugh as you scarf down gopher cordon bleu.

I know what you mean about ammo. I just loaded all mine into a large Rubbermaid and I could barely lift it. I`m actually somewhat worried about carrying all that ammo in the (hot) box of my truck under the tonneau. I don`t want to see any fireworks as I cruise down the highway.

So how many people are confirmed for this outing. We`re really looking forward to it and also the chance to explore a bit more of Saskatchewan the following week.

Actually I was hoping to make some jerky and pemmican after I process the carcasses for their hides and tallow:)

Talked to my cuz last, he called to confirm...Pharoah, you got a final tally from the board?

I am gonna go to the dollar store here tomorrow or next day and get some flourescent orange cardboard to make a few signs.....

I also am going to get my butt in gear and make some land owner consent forms....unless someone has something they already had made up?? Not really sure what I need to do to make one...but I think I can fake it lol!!

Need to get down there in the next couple weeks to get consent forms signed, and do any work the camp area needs done....running outta time!! LOL!!!

Actually I haven't been there yet. C2k has put all the miles on. C2K, I don't think you need to worry about buying materials for the signs. I just made a cardboard sign out of appox. a 3x3 sheet with an arrow and CGN on it. I think that will suffice, but if you want to go more elaborate, knock yourself out.

I think were going to be in the 20 or so max. numbers wise with everyone and their families and such. I'll give it a count here in the next day or two. Most folks backed out, so it won't be too big.

Now everyone who is coming, do you still have a copy of the map? If no PM me and I'll send you another to print out.

tripalm, no worries about helping out with my gas, my parents live "Just up the street" from where we are gonna be, so it is a good excuse to get home and visit LMAO!!

The bright paper here at the dollar store is cheap...so I might grab a couple sheets of it :)

Almost have a consent for put together...will post it in a few to see if there is anything that should be added??

The consent form looks pretty good. Nice and simple. I assume that you are going to add everyone's name into the form before it is signed. The only thing that I'm not sure about is calling the shoot a derby, giving the landowner the impression that you're running a contest, possibly for profit on their land. On the other hand they probably don't care as long as you kill lots of gophers.

You might also want to add a check box for what type of ammunition is allowed, ie centrefire and rimfire, or rimfire only etc. It'll help us keep it straight too.

Just for everyone's info I'll be bringing some extra equipment such as red dot scopes, scopes and bipods etc. for someone who might need it. Maybe we'll have a little swap meet.

Hmmm...Swap meet...ya what the heck, bring trding items!! LMAO!!

The remarks section is going to be filled with info on certain areas that he wants restrictions placed...IE no vehicles, no centerfire etc...

I am also going to make a form that everyone attending will have to sign, just basic info

NAME/VEHICLE MAKE/MODEL/LIC PLATE #

This way WE ARE ALL covered if some other group not related to us causes problems with any local landowners...we can go back and assure them that we were not the cause...

Alright folks, this time next week and the fur will fly. I'm just hoping it won't rain on us. I anticipated a wet Spring but this is ridiculous. Had we done it any earlier I feared to high a risk for rain, but I thought for sure it would be drier by now. Any word from the area on how much rain has fallen there?

Also now is a good time to do any final checks and get what you need. Make sure your tent, sleeping bags or whatever is up to snuff and will stay dry, just in case. Get your food and water ready. I'm bringing a flat of bottled water for the wife and I as well as a water container for washing. You can buy these cheap at Canadian tire if you don't have one. Also consider bringing a spare scope and mounts, plus the tools you need to swap them out. You never know. I'm really starting to look foward to this, provided everyone shows, it should be a great time.

Hope I can get one dry day this week to setup my tent, and make sure its all good! IF they get alot of rain, it will have to be called off....because unless you have a 4x4, you wont even get to his yard!!!

Long range forecast show for SUNNY and high of 19 next saturday...hopefully will be nicer than that!!!

I hope it quits raining for you guys. Out here, in the Nanton/High River area, gopher populations are down from usual, I think they all drowned....no, I'm not kidding :(

I know, you guys got pounded with rain. It's been wet here too, but not as bad so I hear. But everytime I watch the weather Sask seems to be missing the rain that S. Alta is getting. That would be good for us but bad for the farmers I guess. It would keep the grass low and fields accesable by car.
