Saskatchewan OTC mule deer archery

Probably you read this fall edition and it states very clear where they aim.

You and trump like fake news. In order for the Sask. Wildlife Federation to request this there First has to be a resolution passed at a local club meeting. From there it would go to a regional meeting. If it passes this level it would go as a resolution at the annual meeting in the new year. All members have a chance to speak for or against this at any level. If you have a good argument go to a meeting and present it.

I don't like fake news but I like Trump. Too bad I couldn't vote for him

Road hunting is NOT illegal it happens in plain sight every season....as long as you take 10 steps off the road and don't shoot along or across a highway, grid or any other numbered or maintained municipal road?

ATV hunting is illegal? Is this a joke? Thats 90% of Moose and Elk hunters in Provincial forest? As long as rifle is encased what is a C.O going to do?

Seen 3 groups of hunters from Manitoba. 2-3 white guys hunting with a Treaty. Even had conversation with CO about it....and he said there is nothing they can do as long as they have a valid tag. This is just in one area....and does not include out of privince hunting on a deer or bear tag accompaning a Sask resident on a Moose or Elk hunt.

Modern Muzzleloaders with ballistic drop scopes are easily capabale of taking game out to 500 yards.

I dont have problem with muzzleloaders but they should be limited to Iron sights.

715 yard muzzleloader on Antelope

If road hunting is legal and hunters are being safe and taking an animal in accordance to the law who cares??? Just cause it gets under your skin doesn't mean it should be made illegal. Are you one of those people that enjoy having the state levy all kinds of harsh regs on hunters. I much prefer less rules and govt meddlings...but hey thats just me.

Regardless of where an individual hunts its illegal to hunt off an ATV unless you have a special permit. Its not a joke..its a fact in the Regs...just because you claim 90% of northern hunters break the law doesnt change the fact its wrong and illegal. Sounds like total anarchy up there with a claim like yours. Funny I didnt run into any when I shot my elk up there.

As for the 714 muzzleloader shot....come on man...pulling up a random YOutube video is hardly evidence showing that huge numbers of Sask hunters are taking 800 yard shots with their smoke poles. Go look at the research done and the commom consensus is the vast majority of big game species are shot under 100 yards.

You seem to pull out these extreme isolated circumstances ie 90% of northern hunter,,,740 yard muzzleloader shot and try and convince people that this is the norm which is false.

The Sask Wildlife President went on the radio awhile back to say how outrageous it was when a bear got speared in Alberta. He somehow also found time to say that archery was completely acceptable while the spear was inhumane. Which raises a few questions:

Has he ever seen a spear before?

Does he know that spears are already illegal in Saskatchewan?

How many meetings and votes did he have to go through before speaking for the hunters of Saskatchewan? None?

I'm so glad our club punted them to the curb.

You need to get your facts straight and read the regs. Hunting off of an atv is in no way illegal in sk in the northern zones. It clearly states in the big game guide which zones you can and can't hunt off of an atv. You can't shoot off of one of course but that's not what we're talking about.

I liked the road hunters in SK.

Every truckload of guys that never got 10 steps from their heater, was a truckload of guys that were not tromping into where the deer were. More for me! :)

Go one hilltop back from the highway, an there were usually a fair few critters around, they knew better than to go anywhere near the roads.

Worst place I hunted was a town called Coderre, where there were so many guys pushing bush with their trucks the deer wouldn't get up unless they were almost run over. My buddy shot a buck that was laid out on the ground with his head down, hiding in little enough grass that you would not think to look there twice, but was far enough into the edge of the bush that he truck guys wouldn't get in there.

Watched a couple clowns go across a field after a doe, with what can best be described as a boogie van, the 'hunter' standing on the drivers running board, as the van crossed the field at about 30 miles and hour.

Spent a day there, saw too many vehicles crossing in my field of view, bailed, never went back.
