Savage 10TR le/military

Thinking of drinking the coolaid as SFRC has these for sale at 699 plus the 10% summer discount at moment, should i go for the 20' or 24'? Pros and cons of either length? I doubt ill ever get past 900M and this will be a range gun only so no need to drag it out in the bush.
Thoughts??

What? When?
ahhh crap...ended 9am this morning....

Just purchased a new Savage 10TR 24" from someone privately on the Equipment Exchange. Looking at Vortex Vipers for this rifle. Will be my first .30 Caliber Rifle, mostly shoot .204 and varmint calibers in the past. Would like to shoot 200-300 yards with this .308, possibly more once my skill level improves. What kind of magnifications are you guys looking at putting on your .308 rifles? Was think 4-16 or 6-24 just because I like having the power but am open to suggestions.

Also wondering what everyone's preferred Muzzle Brakes are and where they're purchasing them? Looking for something that isn't going to "brake" the bank but will get the job done. DPMS has some nice looking flared 5/8-24 Brakes for around $60.00 from Brownell's, but would rather not have to drive down to Niagara Falls to grab it. Any ideas on a $100-$150 Brake in Canada that will look good and get the job done?

I wanted to change my scope rail for a 20MOA one, but it looks like I did a good job with the rail screws (blue locktite)... It didn't want to unscrew.

What are the things to try with a sticked screw? Heat?

I find that a hot soldering iron tip on each screw for 10 or 20 seconds will break down the locktite and loosen it up enough to remove.

FINALLY WENT OUT!! Muhahahahaha

Tried with the torx bit hammered in it, but it stripped also. Then I tried a square bit, #3 or #4 not sure... But hammered into it, make it's own pattern. Looked pretty solid, the went out with the driver... What a satisfaction! :)

Thanks all for the help.
