Savage 210F Sniper shotgun (targets are up !!!)

I think I know why it is off by 90 degrees. The ejection would hit the adjuster if he used it correctly. Smart idea. you get the same adjustment.

If you are good, 3". If you are like me 12".

Good luck looks very nice. I am looking at something similar.

Did it take you 2 years to come to that conclusion? :D

Sluggin

Hi all, I can't beleive this thread came back from the dead.

I will have a new slugging thread featuring bolt action sluggers. I am just awaiting my last one to arrive in April. I have purchased all (that I know of) bolt action, rifled barrel sluggers. I will commence firing in May and have reports then. I will start a new thread and let this old one fade out.

The bolt action sluggers I will have for the test are

Tar Hunt
Browning A Bolt
Marlin 512
Mossberg 695
Savage 210F

Ammo I will be testing is:

Rem Accutips
Hornady SST
Winchester XP3
Federal Barnes Tipped
Rem Buckhammers

The two best get to stay, the rest will go on the forum for sale. ;) All sluggers will be shot using the same make and model of scope. Burris Fullfield II with Ballistiplex reticle.

Arch:)

oh yeah sorry, i was actually reading the begining of the thread and it only spoke accuracy wise, so i forgot about shotgun only season

Sluggin

Hey Arch!

Do you have a lead sled, or a very high pain threshold? :p

Doug

Hi Doug, no lead sled, just a PAST recoil pad and a way I go. Built and trained farm tough.

My dad took me out shooting when I was 12. The firearm of choice was a Cooey 84 12 gauge. I was about 100 lbs. NOTHING I have ever shot has compared in recoil to that first day.

At least Dad got a good laugh.

Great project. Very different. Have you thought about the Remington premier accutip bonded sabot slug? Do you press your own shells? I would if I had a shotgun sniper rifle. You could control it's accuracy a little more.

Hi, I have already been shooting the new Remington Accu-Tips. My Browning A-Bolt loves that round !!! :bigHug:

I will be pressing my own soon. Just waiting on my custom reload bench I am having made by a custom cabinet buddy of mine. I like to have all my ducks in a row first. Then....:sniper:

Saw the "big" whitey only once more a long while back and to far off to get a shot. As best as we can figure is that a road poacher got him. If it was a legal hunter there would have been a buzz at the local coffee shops and watering holes.

Lots of road poaching with rifles in our shotgun only zone. That "big" whitey has spawned a couple good sons who will be of trophy age in about two more years. They are only about 140's now.

Old thread but good read. Found this as I was looking at what ppl had to say about the Savage Slug Warrior.
For next year I plan on getting a rifled barrel slug gun. I got my myself set on the Savage Slug Warrior as the one you tested but in the 20 gauge as I think they may preform better then the 12 gauge and just wondering what your thought maybe on this or if you have tested out the 20 gauge.
As pictured you were shooting the older version of the 210F without the detachable mag. I was reading on that there were issues on the shells getting jammed. Did you have any issues?
