I do not normally post anything on any site, for any reason. However This seems like a time to make an exception. A little more then a year ago I purchased a Savage 93 in 22 mag (sage camo if u care). I shot well in it's first day out but after 30 rounds while shooting on a hot day a friend pointed out that the plastic stock was melting to the barrel and our groups were dropping off. I took it home.. carved out the stock so it was no longer touched the barrel only to have it warp again. I carved it out again. And again. And again. After hearing that savage was having a range day at our club I took it and talked to them (the savage rimfire plant being an hours drive from my house). They took the gun back, no question asked. Replaced the stock, put a new L-bracket on it and called me. I drove down to get it, they gave me a complete tour of the place. As if that was not enough, for good measure I got given 3 extra mags.

Unlike Remington who still won't fix my 870 barrel (2 months old) that get shells stuck in the chamber, they looked after me and went the extra mile.

In short, if u need a VERY accurate rimfire, buy a savage. U will help keep Canadians working, and they back up their stuff.

Thank u Savage!
Screw u Remington!

That's awesome! I've been thinking of picking up a Savage 93 Classic in either 22LR or 22 WMR. I didn't know that Savage made firearms in Canada.

I purchased my first, a 93 in 17HMR this spring.

It is amazingly accurate, well under MOA at 100 yards, and on the right day under MOA @ 200.

My next center fire will also likely be a Savage, their product line is also very vast with many options and choices.

Good to hear Savage looked after you. Just got the 93 in 17 hmr this summer, shoots great with no problem so far. Wicked price and the accu-trigger is pretty sweet too.

I have a Savage FCSS in 30.06 and I recently got the 93FV in 22 wmr and really like it ..except for the stock so I put on a Boyds tacticool and it was worth every penny..big improvement over the original stock

I have 3 Savages but the first 2 were by chance. This was was by choice and my next center fire bolt gun will be as well. Providing I can get my hands on LH I like.

Got 2 savages centre fires in the safe and one more in the mail. you could say I like em. The @ that are in the safe are very accurate and didnt break the bank either.

love my savages never had an issue with em ever

as for the remi, mine had the same issue kept it oiled shot it a ton and it got better with time now its flawless.

Savage rifles...

Great rifles for the money.

I have a Model 10 LE .308 Win with 20" barrel; Model MkII BV .22 lr with 21" heavy barrel [pre accutrigger]; and a Stevens 200 in .243 Win.

Also have a Model 99F .308 Win [pre-mil serial number] but that's kinda in a different class.

Personally, I like 'em....

Ive got a FV LH in 22-250 that puts five shots .5 MOA(usually aroung .3-4. Shoots under 1.5" at 330yrds eveytime) or better with handloads using 55gr vmax or SBK's. Completely stock rifle with the cheap flexible narrow forend plastic stock. A 400yrd minute of gopher gun for $700. Not bad.

My FLCP-K .308 is another excellent shooter. Best group to date is .176 at 100Yrds with 175gr SMK hand loads. Got this one on sale fron Frontier Firearms for $815 to my door in Edmonton.

The accutriggers are excellent IMO.

Cant beat the bang for your buck with a Savage thats for sure.

Also didn't know they were made in Canada. Just the exuse I need to buy a 93FV. Just have to decide on a 22mag or 17HMR?

I went with the 22 mag. I shoot a woodchuck at 75 yards with it and it falls over dead. My buddies 17hmr (both guns running vmax bullets), they run down their holes and die. At 150 yards my model 93 22 mag, drops like 1.5-2 inches more then his 17 ruger. Not to mention he pays more for his 17 ammo.
But bother are still really fun! And yes they are made in Lakefield Ontario. want their phone number?

I got my first Sav 93/17 HMR several years ago. i quickly found out that this wasn't your ordinary old 22 cal rimfire. We donned big cheap 24 power scopes and immediately found out that we could shoot the primers out of spent 12 ga shells @ 100 yds :D....Then I just HAAAD to have the Laminate Stainless 17 ...glad I did. My 12 yr old daughter and my wife both love shootin this little gem! Chey can shoot walnuts at 100 yds now...she's taking her PAL course on the 9, 10 and 11th and her Hunters Ed later this month. She's excited and I am even more for her. A lot of this love of shooting comes from that little Savage 17!!!

I bought a 9317 couple years back because I wanted to try the accutrigger. I was blown away by how accurate it is, I loved the trigger, so logically the next step was to by another savage :)

Got a 11FCNS in 223 with accutrigger and accustock, and I will be damned if I don't love it too. In my own stupidity I over tightened the screw for the wedge and split the accu wedge or whatever they call it. phoned savage and they sent me 2 new ones free of charge in about a week!

Screw remington! I am on my way to changing my name to SavageJunkie:) lol
