That is the regular price, but it's only available to LEO and military. If civilians are buying them, it's by proxy and the price is whatever the original buyer wants.

I haven't yet, but after consulting with Mystic Precision, this normal behavior and I'm just being too picky. A good cleaning, some lube and some break-in time will cure it. He says 'timing' the bolt might further improve it. Like he said, the Savage is designed and build to be a rugged-use rifle.
Is there much difference between the Savage 10TR and 10T? I've seen the 10T for sale at Cabellas in the US.
Nothing drives up sales like telling someone it's limited![]()
Well, I heard from one retailer that only 1,000 of these were coming into Canada, and recently I heard the figure was actually only 500.
Where did you hear this? I'm not trying to call you out, just curious how exclusive my new toy is...
I looked into the Cabela's model 10 and the specs looked identical, but I could be wrong. I believe it was a limited production run for the Cabela's version as well. But who's to say they will/won't make more in the future? My biggest motivator was not how rare it is but the fact that it was priced so nice.
Just can't understand what a short and long action is? And what the 10 TR is. Please help me out! Thanks for any advice in advance!
On a Savage it is pretty easy, models with a two digit number are short action. Example: Savage 10 = Short action, Savage 110 = Long action.
Further, 10/110 models are standard finish (black/plastic), 14/114 are the hunters (wood), 16/116 are stainless
Those are the basics. After that you have abbreviations after the model number (ex. 10TR) to explain what configuration the rifle is
