Alright, that mag fitment issue is a legitimate issue in my books, so i got to work trying to rectify it, After sanding the cerakote out of the inside of the magwell with some 220, the mags were still tight as heck, i walked away from the project for a while before i take it too far.
When i got back i took a harder look at it, cause before gen 2 mags fit better then gen 3, now it was vice versa, the gen 3 mags fit WAY better, after looking at things just as the gen 2 mags really start binding its the mag stop, the mag stop uses the spine of the mag, and on the gen 2 there's a sloped piece of plastic that isn't present on the gen 3, file that down and they insert, now you still gotta push them in, and they still dont drop free, but they're functional.
In theory steel mags should be the best for the application, and why the incluced pmag rattles around in the mag well and all other pmags dont, is beyond me (MFT mags are snug too) anyway hope my findings help someone else, i recomend filing that left ramped piece on your gen 2 mags before going at your mag well like i did.
