I'm also interested in getting into more long range PRS type shooting, so a flat shooting low -recoil cartridge would be great. Is it worth grabbing 6.5 Creedmoor for this role since I already have 6.5x55 or should I consider something else entirely?
Im looking to expand my horizons in regards to my calibre selection. I currently own the following:
1. 22LR
2. .223/5.56
3. 9mm
4. .38/.357
5. 7.62x39
6. 6.5x55
7. .308
8. 30-06
9. 45-70
10. 12 gauge
I hunt everything in Ontario from small game , turkey, white tail and moose. I'm also interested in new rounds for plinking/long range.
What's a new calibre that I'm currently missing out on and why should I add it to the repertoire?
Interested to hear your thoughts.
nothing on that list screams
you need something that goes over 3000FPS
You need a 9.3x62...that would be your moose gun.
6. 6.5x55
7. .308
8. 30-06
9. 45-70
I know where little about it, sounds expensive? Haha.
Isn't this a Big 5 African game cartridge?

Lighter 30-06 loads will crack 3000 FPS but point taken.
338-06 or 35 Whelen Great intermidate cartridges ! RJ
375 are medium bore. big bore start at .40 not including the anemic 45-70 ....
I'm still fairly new to this so thanks for clarifying. What are the upper and lower limits of medium bore? 0.33 to 0.39?
