I figure I better post this incase someone else has the same problem. I bought a new XCR .223 today and have it broken down for cleaning, inspection and lube. There was some powder residue in the bore and a small object in the bore about 1/2" from the muzzle. So I pass a dry patch through and the jag stops at the muzzle. I pulled it back out and fished the patch out and the object was still there. It turns out whoever pinned the flash hider drilled right through into the bore and seated the pin so it protrudes into the bore. The rifle is not safe to fire. Ill be taking it back to the local shop I bought it from tomorrow, I know they'll make it right but my God. Ill also take pics and send them to RA, that is bloody dangerous and completely unnacceptable. I dont feel it would cause the barrel to rupture but it will definetely destroy accuracy and could damage the barrel further. I hope no one else has had this issue. Ill post the pics here too so everyone can see. This is why you fully dissasemble and inspect every gun you buy before firing.

I bought it from Barton's in GP, they always make things right when I have any issues as does Wolverine so I'm not worried about it getting fixed. I know it will be taken care of but I think people need to see it. Always check your guns before firing, this is why.

Unfortunately, no surprises here, quality control has always been a question as far as Robinson Arms as a company is concerned.

Wolverine will fix this for sure. Glad you didn't shoot it ;)

Thank you for the post and pictures and hope you get a speedy replacement. Definetly shows your point exactly to always inspect a new rifle, if it helps out one person this thread was worth it. Cheers.

Polite but stern email sent to RA, rifle is going back to Barton's tomorrow after work. They will hand me a replacement, I can guaruntee it. I'll have them check their current inventory of XCRs for this issue. I wonder if I should let Wolverine know so John can check his XCRs over too.
