I figure I better post this incase someone else has the same problem. I bought a new XCR .223 today and have it broken down for cleaning, inspection and lube. There was some powder residue in the bore and a small object in the bore about 1/2" from the muzzle. So I pass a dry patch through and the jag stops at the muzzle. I pulled it back out and fished the patch out and the object was still there. It turns out whoever pinned the flash hider drilled right through into the bore and seated the pin so it protrudes into the bore. The rifle is not safe to fire. Ill be taking it back to the local shop I bought it from tomorrow, I know they'll make it right but my God. Ill also take pics and send them to RA, that is bloody dangerous and completely unnacceptable. I dont feel it would cause the barrel to rupture but it will definetely destroy accuracy and could damage the barrel further. I hope no one else has had this issue. Ill post the pics here too so everyone can see. This is why you fully dissasemble and inspect every gun you buy before firing.
