sharing the meat

We share the meat equally, there are usually four of us including my 16 year old, which means we take 1/3 of the meat and usually end up paying 1/2 of the costs.

Its different with everyone I hunt with and the situation. Sometimes I'll take a buddy out deer hunting so he can put meat in the freezer. He can take it all. I'm there just to help out and for a good time. I don't usually have a hard time filling the freezer these days so I'm not going to worry about a couple deer plus if feels good to help out a buddy fill his tag. Bears are not worth splitting up as far as I am concerned, they are easy to get and not much work involved so keep em all if you want. Elk and Moose are different usually its split evenly between whoever was involved.

However if its my deer tag and someone is with me I will always offer them half. I don't expect them to have the same outlook as myself. Same with Bears if it's mine you can have as much as you want makes no difference to me. If you don't want it I'll use it.

my buddy and I shared the meat on the buck I took this year, as it was taken on his property and he was hunting with me. it's only fair.

We ( 6 of us ) do an equal share - for those who want it. Two of the guys just want a roast or two as their families don't enjoy venison (go figure) ... they get their reduced share. The balance is divvyed up as equally as possible as to cuts & packages, 4 ways ... with a bonus to the shooter. Tenderloins. Shooter(s) always get the tenderloins. Hearts & livers to whomever wants them. Everyone's happy !

We always share ours. If I don't get a deer it's nice to know I will still get a bit of meat. If I do get one I wouldn't want the hole thing anyway.

Dave.

The rack goes to the tag holder in our camps and the meat is split how ever many ways that there are hunters.

In some situations the land owner is part of the equations as well.

Growing up I pretty much lived off of moose meat that was shared between my dad and his hunting buddies. It was nice knowing that whenever he went out, regardless if he made a kill, we always had meat.

Even share

We usually share all game evenly, but this year, three out of four of us in camp got a deer, and we wanted to each give a 1/4 to the partner who went deer less and were going to do it, but he asked for only about 1/8 of each deer 'cause his wife claims she can't digest mule deer meat.

And I'm very fortunate this year, I went out on an LEH hunt with one of our hunting partners and he got a big cow elk.

I didn't ask for it, I' d have been happy with a hindquarter, but he gave me half.
