I was just wondering if it is legal to shoot deer with a .223.

"...Caliber restrictions are silly..." You're trying to apply logic where none exists. Mind you, having a calibre restriction for deer isn't a bad thing. Prevents the hunter who doesn't reload from buying whatever factory .223 ammo that's cheap. .
But it doesn't prevent someone form using a 9mm carbine...

Not the best choice. I believe in Alberta the cartridge has to be a certain length. That eliminates the pistol type rounds. .357 mag,44 mag, etc. Unless things have changed in Alberta. QUOTE]
Yes they have, these centrefire pistol rounds, and 7.62 X 39 all legit in Alberta for big game now.....including the WSSM rounds.
Been so for about three years or more.
Trolling lol? Using a tiny bullet and wounding an animal because one is too cheap to buy a decent gun isnt problematic?so is trolling.
.
Gutshooting is bad karma
