Shorten PAL Approval Times

Hey i have a question about mailing the application, I went and upgraded my pal to an rpal, on those mailing packages we get that have the little envelope you fold up your application and mail off to them, I put a stamp on it and mailed it off, I remember it has the CFC's address on it, but I didn't put my return address on it, I think I remember seeing something printed on the corner where you would normally put your return address. Will it make it there if you dont have your return address on there?

Yes, it will. If there's no return address and the mailto address is invalid, they may open it to determine who it came from to send it back to.

Morning all

My application for my PAL/RPAL is in process right now. I called in on Friday to fix a minor ommission I had made and they did my interview there and then. I have asked my references to call in for their interviews next week but I was wondering should I get my wife to call in? She signed the form so does she get interviewed or is it just my references.

Thanks all

Tom

from what I understand you don't need your wife to call in; unless they specifically ask to talk to your spouse...

Its been exactly 2 months now since my applications was received, my interviews were done a month ago and my PAL is still showed as in progress. This waiting is driving me crazy, has anyone else had any delays? My application was received December 12th.

It seems to vary wildly from province to province.

What province are you in?

Have you called the CFP to inquire?

Mine was received on December 12th as well. It still says in progress however, I called my CFO (BC) and they said it had been approved on the 30th but had to go through a mandatory 15 day wait. I wasn't aware of this additional wait but I'll take it.

Give your CFO a call

I sent my application in on Friday through regular post so I'm not sure if it was picked up Friday or Monday, however I do wonder how long it will take for mine to get approved and sent back to me.

I'm in Alberta and I applied for a PAL+RPAL. And as I said it went through Canada Post do no receipt or express shipping for me. If I could change it to express post tommorow I would but thats probably impossible huh?

But back on topic, how long should I expect? 3 months max?

There's always a few variables. The fact that you're applying for both the PAL and RPAL will prolong the process a little.

Also, did you list a spouse, conjugal partner or ex? If so, did you get them to sign? If you listed one and didn't get a signature that's going to prolong it a little longer as well.

Read the first post in here and do what it says and you should expect to have your licenses within a month and a half I'd say. It shouldn't ever take them 3 months unless your information is wrong/questionable.

From what I understand you have to wait until it shows up on the website before you are in the system. If you call before then you wont be acknowledged. The first thing they ask for is file number. It shows up on the website.

No complications, and no boxes checked yes, I am sure it will go fine.

Some people say to phone in as soon as it shows up on the website to ask if all the information was complete. I didn't but it still went fine.

Couldn't hurt to call in though.
