DAMN!! they're on the ball, seeing as the app was recieved on 16 Jan and this is the first business day after the weekend.

Well, my app arrived at their office. So how long does it take for the app to appear online? Does phoning in still work?

According to canada post they received mine on feb 3rd and im still waiting for it to show up online. Grr.

I called once but they said just have to wait a couple weeks.

So id say it takes at least 2 weeks or more.

Received my wife's and my RPAL stamped test results this morning.........faxed the PAL and RPAL stamped test results off a few minutes ago...........28 day is up this Wednesday.......and figures, our references (we used my sister and brother in law for both of us) are in Florida on vacation till mid next week.....................sigh.

Jan 11th: Sent the application along with results and everything needed.

Jan 16th: Received at the CFC.

Jan 25th: Goes online

Gave them a call the next day, like Noltz said I should.

Not having the CFO's stamp wasn't a problem, since I finished it all a bit before that was started. They told me to call back the following Monday/Tuesday and do my interview. I put it off for a few days to try and get my references here and get all interviews done in one go.

Feb 2nd: They ended up calling me. Did my interview along with one of my references who was here at the time. They then called my other reference, he missed them but gave them a call once I told him they called here and asked if they called him yet He had missed their call, but gave them a callback right away and did his interview.

Right on the 28th day.

I'm tempted to call the CFO and get my PAL number...now to hunt down a No.4 in decent condition for a decent price.

recieved my rpal in the mail box today I have a new ruger 10 22 waiting for me at a gun shop that I have paid for, also have a nylon 66 hopefully be able to go shooting some time this week

:50cal:

Also, I followed advice to send in the safety results later (I'm in Ontario).... can I fax them the info when I receive it or do I have to mail it?

Does Canada Post send stuff over weekends? Or only weekdays? Also if I get my PAL number from the CFC, can I go to a gun store without the actual card and buy a firearm?

I sent my app on Thurs. afternoon and it arrived Monday at 12 so I think they do. I am also interested if you can buy firearms/ammo with just the PAL number.

I just faxed the stamped test results in (I'm from Ontario obviously), but have a quick question......

I have seen some have faxed a copy of the results in, then expedite mailed a hard original copy.

Is this required or necessary? Does the faxed results suffice? I'll be following up with the CFC later this week and will find out then for sure, but just wondering if you folks knew forsure in the meantime..........appreciate it.

If I recall correctly, I called them after faxing in the stamped results to make sure their copy was legible - the CFC confirmed that it was. I never did mail in the stamped results.

Hmmm... put it in regular mail on Jan 16. System says it was received on Jan 20. Called in to CFC today (feb 14) and she told me that it's all good and we're just waiting for the 28 day wait period which should be this Friday. It looks like I may be able to buy my first gun next week! (Knock on synthetic stock).

I was curious what people on here meant by sending in test results and what not. Maybe that was done by my instructor on the spot?

called again today to see why its not online. My app was received by them on Jan 30th.

She said if its online by end of this week i should call back and inquire again.

Hey what are the usual questions asked of you and your references?

All they asked me was 5-10 minutes of yes/no questions, mostly confirming the ones on the form.

"Have you had suicidal thoughts in the past two years?"
"Have you been subjected to a restraining order or peace bond"
"Have you been probed by aliens within the last two years, and did you like it?"

That sort of thing.

Ok the last one was a fake. I admit.

I wouldn't have been surprised if that one was actually asked, to test your mental state. A friend of mine was asked "do you watch violent movies". Is that a normal question, seems like a question designed to mostly screw with your words
