Congrats! I'm just about to begin the waiting game. :p

Application just showed up online today. Got 7 days left for the 28 days waiting. Can I call in and do my interview now or is it too early?

I mailed mine in from BC on Tuesday (April 10th), Canada Post confirmed it was delivered in the wee hours this morning. This is for my RPAL, I am already a PAL holder. I answered yes to a no question (was laid off in the last 2 years) - so we will see how that affects everything. I'll keep everyone posted as to how long it takes.

Status posted to RCMP website this morning, May 2nd (wasn't there last night). I called in last week and was told they could not look up my ap for me as it hadn't been processed yet.

That seems to depend on the position of the planets.
I called two days ago to check if there was any missing information or problems with mine and the lady said it was fine and asked if I wanted to be transferred to do my interview. I said no because my break was almost over. I called back yesterday and got someone else and she said my application was not ready for the interviews and that I would be contacted in about eight days, coincidentally also the end of my 28 day waiting period.

Pretty much seems like it depends on who you get on the phone.

It has always been like that. That is why the advice is: if you don't get the answer you want, call back.

I just checked the status of my girlfriends RPAL app (her last reference interview was done yesterday).... "licence has been issued" !! (47 day from receipt)

Yeah, I know, I'm a pretty lucky guy... Not only is she hot, she likes guns too!! :D

She's damn camera shy, but next time we go shooting, she'll have no choice! ( I just "earned" some serious bargaining power)... I might just be able to convince her to let me post some.... The "Girls with Guns" photo thread needs more wives and girlfriends, and less bimbos with fake lips n boobs!

My RPAL application was received by CFC on April 5 and was "in progress" on April 26.

Because the CFC has had my application for at least 28 days, I decided to give them a shout this morning. I asked if my license had any deficiences and the lady said, no, it did not and would I like to have someone ask me a few questions about it. (Yippee.) I said, "I'd love to".

Well, I waited about 5 minutes. Then the same person came back on the line and said that she had tried every extension available to the office that does the interviews, but there seemed to be a technical problem preventing that. She asked me to call back later today and it will be done then.

Update: I made that second call and I've had my interview, which I think went very well. Once again with feeling .......yippee.

Did you answer "Yes" to any of the questions on the application? Usually your province seems to be pretty quick to issue licenses.

Get your references to call the CFC with your application number and do their interviews (I was also given an extension # for my references to call). You could be approved as soon as the last interview is complete.

Just worked for me. License issued within 48 hours of the last interview.

Thanks for the advice.

The person who interviewed me did not give me an extension number, nor did she say anything about me having my references give anyone a call. Too bad. If I had been on the ball, I would have asked for that information myself, but I was just relieved that I had at least had my interview. I'm an old fart who hasn't had a speeding or parking ticket for over 15 years. I'm as clean as a whistle. Maybe they won't bother with the reference interviews. (Yeah, I'm old, but I'm still a dreamer.)

I suppose I could give my application number to my references and ask them to call the CFC 1-800 number, but I feel like that would be asking just a bit too much of them. But as time drags on, who knows, maybe I'll decide it really isn't so much to ask.:D
