Shorten PAL Approval Times

My 28 days are up on the 18th. I'd call before that and get your interviews out of the way before day 28. Call Friday Morning.

By the way - the Waterloo Regional Police have the local firearms department that will be giving me the eventual green light. I thought the CFO meant that the OPP would be doing that, the way the RCMP describes it (for Ontario, obviously).

Hopefully that makes sense....am I right that the Waterloo Regional Police approve licences in the Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge/Guelph area?

This should help others with confusion as well, unless it's just me. ;)

The firearms officer for the City of Guelph used to be Jerry Rowsom with the city police. He used to have an annoying habit of sitting on the applications for over 21 days before forwarding them to the CFC. He claimed that this was the waiting period:bsFlag:

Interesting.....

Now it's Waterloo Regional, at least that's what I was told by one of the officers assigned to the firearms "branch" at HQ. Sgt. Haines and Cst. Labelle are the two who process applications to my knowledge.

I know mine will come in good time, but waiting to pursue career goals is damn exciting. It's like being a kid in a candy store all over again.

Just verified with Guelph Police....Desk Sgt. said Guelph hasn't had a firearms officer for about 4 years. Looks like it's done through Waterloo as mentioned.

They received it June 18th and it showed up on line on the 26th?

Wow - I just looked at my Google calendar and noticed a note I put in: June 25th my status was updated! Really fast.

(Employment statement/purple colouring may have been the key). I'm applying to security companies as we speak, so I needed it done as speedy as possible.
