Shorten PAL Approval Times

Its been 4 weeks now and still no Stamped course results back from the Ontario CFO

My min 28 day waiting period is up next Thursday. It seems most guys are getting theirs back with 3 weeks or so. I wonder if the instructor forgot to mail it:eek:

I got mine in about 2 and a half to 3 weeks. Finished my course beginning of June, and had results in hand about the 18th. My instructer told me I was doing the course at the right time... the next few courses would probably have over a month wait time because everyone rushes to get the PALs before hunting season.

So, I called the CFC friday the 13th and they had me to pass the phone interview.

My reference got called someday this week, already looking up Norinco m305 :ninja:

Applied for my rpal upgrade on my pal April 8. Still have not seen my card. My references were called months ago. Finially I got frustrated n called today. They said it was in final processing which is what they said 5 weeks ago when I called. This time I pushed it a little more n finally the girl in the call center transferred me to the provincial office where my app is being reviewed. The girl there said its with my local district Sargent for final review I kept pushing asking of there was any hold ups or if there was something more they would like me to do to hurry the process. Also mentioning the on the website it says 45 days and today is 100 days ( from date of mailing). She then transferred me thru the the sargents desk who was "final reviewing my app". I was excited right on some progress!!! I got this officers answering machine.. MSG was something to the effect of " I'll be away from my office on extended vacation from June 1 to July 23.". Grrrrrrrrrrrr. Lol. Guess I'll still wait as patiently as I can. This is an Ontario app btw. Just thought I'd share my experience. Rant over. Lol. Have a great day everyone n get out n shoot!!!

Does anyone know when your license is approved, can you phone in and get the number or do you have to wait for it in the mail?

Haha.. good question. Another thread dealt with this. You need the card unless the owner of the gunshop knows you and is willing to call the local CFO to confirm you have your license.

My card was issued and I'm now waiting 2 weeks + for it to be mailed.

I called the CFO and told them I was applying for a job at a gun store and asked them if they could fax the gun store to confirm my pal license was on the slow train to my house. No way, they don't have to be nice, they are government after all, sorry can't help you....bam the door closes.

Yikes, I do love this system, I got my daily dose of abuse and went on my merry way. f:P:

Read this earlier. Thinking the same. Hope it helps

My application was received on june 20, I just checked yesterday july 18 and My PAL has been processed and mailed. Just waiting by the mail now!

Well my rpal upgrade papers were mailed to Miramichi June 25th, received July 3rd and was just put online today. Seems like they have a lot of apps. Must be due to huntin season.

That's great. Just a few days past the 28-day minimum.
Congrats.
Kiss your money goodbye!!!!!!

The Ontario CFO is for the whole of Ontario.
Go through the regular 1 800 or Google CFO

The ontario CFO does the background checks then it goes to the firearms office of your region for final local approval..... the msg from the sargent that is responsible for doing mine mentioned he was responsible for north eastern ontario. since i'm in sault ste. marie that makes sence. who does your area i'm not sure

calling the 1800 number and pushing thru to get transfered to ontario cfo and then to the local officer was how i got thru. I've called the cfo for ontario number and told call the call center when asking about application status. if there was a direct number i'd like to know it also padawan. perhaps calling the callcenter n asking for your regions local approval office

So...Like I sated in the first post, I dont know where my EX is, or how to get ahold of her. Iv tried, with no luck for other reasons other then this. We have been seperated for 23 months, so because the CFO cant get a hold of her, I have to wait untill the end of August. That will be 2 years, and then they wont need to talk to her.

JEEZUS! What next??

So, let me get this right. You had your interview and your ref called in. And now the CFO is holding up your app?

Ummm. Whats with the CFO power trip in Ontario and B.C ??

Thats what i need to know. I'll try calling the call center tomorrow morning if my app isn't approved by then.

Awesome news: my RPAL app is sitting with the CFO now (Waterloo Regional Police), and she's off for a week, returning on the 30th.

Last step......so close!
