Shorten PAL Approval Times

So I found this statement on this website.
Where's my paperwork?

Students who have taken a CFSC /CRFSC Course and/or test will receive a stamped copy of their CAFC 332 form from the FSESO Administration office in approximately 2 weeks from the date the paperwork has been received in our office.

Please understand, an instructor has 5 days to return the paperwork to us for processing, Canada Post may take up to a week to deliver it to us, and then, once received in our office, it will be processed within 2 weeks and mailed back to you in the envelope you filled out with your name and return address. Please allow time for Canada Post to deliver the paperwork to you. If there are errors or incomplete information on your form or envelope, this will result in further delays. The stamped CAFC 332 form will be required when you apply for your Possession and Acquisition Licence ( CAFC 921 ).

If it has been at least four weeks since you took your course and/or test, and you have not received your paperwork, (you must know the month, day and year of the course as well as the instructor in order for us to locate your paperwork) You may call:

1- 800 - 731- 4000 extension 7514

Called and was told a few things. 1)The man I was speaking to would have to physically search boxes to find my test results from the Instructor. They apparently don't digitize these files? 2)Mine should be in the mail and is most likely being held up by Canada Post. 3)Call back if I don't have it within the first week of January.

I don't believe the Canada Post BS. I would imagine this 4 week holdup has been @ the CFO. I've received multiple items from CP in the past month in great time, 3-4 days at most. Trying to be patient but it's hard when you really want something and have put decent effort in to acquiring it.:runaway:

Well I learned my lesson this morning. Called the CFO for Alberta as soon as their office opened this morning so I wouldn't have to wait on hold. I talked to a nice lady who said they had just recieved it (they've had it for 3 weeks) and she just had to finish up a few thing and should be done in the next week and mailed to me.
Lesson learned was it probably sat in a pile for weeks until I called and they had to find it. So hopefully calling will have sped up the process.
I was really hoping that I had it over the holidays so I could go to the range but it looks like its going to have to wait for days off towards the end of January

What a joke, they blame the instructors and the post office. The fact is it usually takes 6 weeks, but when busy (like start of hunting season or year-end), it is more like 8 to 10 weeks.

day 28.... still "completed initial processing......."

called today and they said its with the cfo's office in orillia. not quite sure what that means, does it go back to the rcmp after its been approved?

i was kinda hoping i'd see that it has been approved, it'd be a nice bday present thats for sure :)

Yep.. kinda screwed that part up f:P:

It may not matter... I'm the opposite, I submitted mine before the stamped results came in. My 28 day cool down period is done and I'm still waiting for my stamped results. As I say in a previous post I was told to call at the end of this week If I still don't have them.

Best of luck.

Hey Calalta,

A few times I have called. The last time was on Dec 23 where the lady said that everything looks fine and you should see your license in about 10 business days.

That sounded good to me but they have not even updated the online result where it still says,

Application Received on: 2010/11/12

Current Status: Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date.

I hope the license is mailed to me sometime during the week.

Tomorrow is day twenty-eight since my application was received.
It's been "in progress" for the last three weeks.
I ensured all paperwork was in order, interviews were done during week one.
Am I going to get approved tomorrow??? Or is it going to be 45 days or more....
The anticipation is killing me.
