Shorten PAL Approval Times

I wouldn't worry about it, in a few days you will walk out with your exam results in hand, and you can send in the whole package.
It is really Ont. applicants who wait about an extra 6 weeks that should send in the application without waiting for the 'verified' scores.

Yeah, I'll just wait till I'm done the courses...

Thanx :)

My application was received Jan. 7, for RPAL. As of today it's still "in progress".

I called in a week or two ago to ask what the hold up was; since I was about 40 days into the waiting period I got the, "it could take more than 45 days" and was told that it was being processed at the provincial office.

There was a bit of a delay in getting one of my references to call in, perhaps 3-4 days after they interviewed me and my other reference.

It's now been 57 days. Is there a way to take my inquiry further, to see what the hold-up is at the Ontario office?

Is another few weeks a typical wait once it hits the province?

Thanks

ask to be transferred to the ontario office. i did just that when i called the cfc and was connected no problems.

Day 28 today on the button and look at the message I got:D

Current Status: Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canada Firearms Centre Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)

Thanx very much for all the great info in this post:)
See you soon at the fish and game club :sniper:

That's a great feeling.

I went into the CFO's office on Friday, the same day my licence was issued, with an ATT application, having called them beforehand for my PAL number, anyway, checked the mail this morning and I am now the proud owner of an LTATT. No PAL card yet though...

Well that was painless; I should've done that a month ago. Apparently my application has been "forwarded to a team leader" or something, and that I should call back next week.

Kinda wish they mentioned this was a possibility when I called the main RCMP line...

who cars, i called 2 days after they recieved it..

and then again 2 weeks after they don't care.. they just say that call and complain..

BUT BE POLITE

And done. After 2 months of waiting, the license was issued within 7 hours of talking to the Ontario office.

Thanks Dunner! Who knows how long this would've taken...

Lol I just checked the status of my app and the lady says it's been issued and I should be receiving it soon. I then informed her that myself and and both my references have yet to get a call from them... How is that possible? She said she would have to call me back probably next week. Hahah.

So my RPAL course is March 26 weekend (PAL+RPAL). Was wondering if it was worth sending my application in now to Miramichi without the results first, and fax the PAL+RPAL tests in after. Any suggestions and/or advice?

i dont know if they accept faxes for those documents, why not just send them out overnite/signature required.
