Shorten PAL Approval Times

From what i have been hearing from people on Ontario there instructors tell them to wait until they get the results to send in the application.

The instructors have to be informed that you CAN send in your application in without your results but a note stating you will send in once you receive them from the CFO. That way you are not waiting an extra 4 weeks for no reason.

just checked my application and it said my license was issued!!! must be because i live in ns. anyway i'm pumped. hopefully i will have it in a week.

The instructors KNOW that you can send in your application without the test results, to start the 28 days count. They are unable to tell you. They have to go by the book.

lol i meant type without* not out with.

DAMN THIS DELAY  I SHOULD HAVE LIVED WITH MY COUSINS IN WINNIPEG AND JUST GOT IT DONE THERE for the month!!!! haha would have probably had it by now

Called Deb at the safety approval place (hired by the ONT CFO). They are at March 11 for the safety approvals, still can't believe the government doesn't keep a check on those they contract-leave it to the Fibs to #### this up too

Its been two weeks or more since they recieved my papers and still nothing updated on the site. Should i call or will it get me any farther ahead?

Rtangri. I wrote a complaint to Ombudsman Ontario and I think all of people from Ontario
should do the same thing. Their stupid policy of stamping your already passed tests and unusually long wait times are simply unacceptable .

So
I called today, Its been almost 1 month that they received the Application, and I was told that it has been processed and was sent to the chief firearms officer in my province for final review. Anyone ever hear of this happening?

Thats what it does it goes there they review it and approve then you wait for them to mail it out.

rtangri, I got a letter from the RCMP today looking for my test results. Gonna call them tomorrow to advise that they will be on the way and ask if they can push them. Anyone know if they can?

The goo news is other than that, the only other thing that was an issue was my picture so I will pony up for a passport one.

You mentioned that they are looking at March 11th as of yesterday so I am hoping soon as I passed mine on Saturday March 19th.

Impressed with the turn around though as I mailed my app April 6th and the RCMP mas already responded. If I only had my results...........

Called on Monday about being interviewed 2 weeks ago. Both reference interviews are done. "Oh, all of your interviews have gone through, 45 day wait while it is being processed..."

Rtangri. Called today and got some info from the RCMP on my app. They then transferred me to the CFO. Spoke to a very nicy woman who is getting daily updates on where they are. As of today they are at March 16th and she said they can usually approve 2 days worth of tests every day. If this is the case then next week could be when it arrives.

Her extension is 7503 if interested. She invited me to call back next week for an update.

Nice. I love my .22lr though. All day cheap fun! My .308 is a pig to feed though.

I will check in again when I hear something else. Although i passed my exam on March 19th, it would take a few days to get to the CFO by mail so it could be 2 weeks for me. I will let you know if I get any news.

If interested, call that extension on Friday to get an update. I will call mid next week. She was very helpful and encouraged me to call back for an update.

I have been reading all of the delays in safety course prosessing for people in Onterio.

Its because The Canadian Firearms Center is Federal. In Onterio, the CFO's office is Provincial and not Federal.

In MB, AB, SK, NWT, The CFO is Federal.

So In Manitoba, if you pass the Firearms Safety Course you get your papers right away, and you can mail out your application to CFC the same day.

The Provincial CFO office in Onterio is contracted out by the RCMP, So extra prosessing requirements are needed.

:(
