Shorten PAL Approval Times

Alright, first yes I am one inpatient individual, second my app is with the Ontario CFO. Apparently the RCMP is fine with everything and are waiting to hear back from Ontario. It's been about 4 days, the CFO stamped my CFSC so would it be wrong to assume this process shouldn't take much longer? Lastly is there any point to calling the CFO office, will they give a status update?

Challenged the exam for PAL in Sept 2012 and never bothered to file the paper work.
Nov. 25th 2015 -Finally sent it in via snail mail, with stale dated forms as I had filled them out back in 2012.
Dec. 1st -They were received but when I checked the website it had no information regarding me or my application.
Dec. 29th -Finally showed up as received and under initial processing
Jan. 13th 2016 - Called in to ensure the application was complete, had a ref there to talk to the nice lady as well (said she would send to approval)
Jan. 18th -Now showing as approved and sent out...
Here's to hoping our awesome mail system does not loose it before it gets to me
Also random question but I intend on leaving for a week or so and am curious, does it come standard mail, or will it require a signature?

Well mine showed up on there site. But as i mentioned in my earlier post i may have forgotten my credit card info. Does anyone know weather they take the payment once it shows up as in progress or do they take the payment later. Not sure if i should just call them up and give them the card info as it does not state that any info is missing only that its completed initial processing.

Call asap. Explain that the card you used is no longer valid. They will take your new card and process immediately. I wouldn't be surprised if yours moves to completed shortly after that. Make sure you get a reference number so your references can call in

Even though the wait seemed like forever for me it was right in line with what they said. After getting my test results back 2 weeks after my course, I had sent it all registered mail to the RCMP (so I knew when they received it). Sure enough, exactly 30 days after they received it, the notification said its been processed and I should receive my card in 2 weeks, Guess I'm one of the lucky ones?

After waiting very impatiently though Christmas and new years, I finally have my PAL. here's my BC timeline:

Haha ya, I've waited way too long to upgrade to restricted and now I've already spent all my gun budget in my head about 5 times over.
One more question. What's the earliest that it's worth it to call to check on the application?
I sent it in yesterday and know I should wait at least a week or so, but how soon can I call?
I didn't even think of doing the registered mail. Silly on my part.

Called in today to speak to them about some changes in credit card stuff (my bank issued a new card, as there was some issues on their end), they corrected one thing on my app, and told me to have a reference call in. Was a good thing I called! They are great to speak to. Just gotta wait for my CFO now, and then I am ready to go for whenever the Tavor course signup starts, and can buy things!

thats actually not to bad considering you had Christmas and New years stuffed in the middle, plus the nightmare of boxing day and all the other sales aswell
