Shorten PAL Approval Times

Tried calling my local RCMP detachment today and they said they no longer handle PAL reviews and it is all handled through the CFO office itself.

From start to finish 26 days, Now to wait for it in the mail. I think it would have been faster if they did not screw around with one of my references, Kept telling him to call back. So i had 2nd reference call in and bam next day online status states approved and in the mail. I might add i did a upgrade to RPAL as my Pal is expiring in December.
So pumped right now to start my AR Build :ar15:
Thanks to the OP calalta, This thread was a HUGE help...

Ok So I called in and the guy that answered was very calm and helpful . I had all ready talked to my references . Got my file number and guy said , Yes it will go quicker when the references call in . Called my reference to get him to call in , on the Thursday . He got tied up with some stuff and didn't call . . . Friday , a holliday , Saturday an sunday , offices not open . So Monday I,m gonna stand right beside him to make sure he calls . Even if he had called Thursday , because of the holliday Nothing would have happened till Monday anyways . I,m getting closer . And recommend to any one reading watching this post . If your paper work has been received . START calling . Don't wait .

Nice i am back in country:canadaFlag: on the 7th perfect timing... This all worked out perfectly. One thing i did not say was i added scanned copies of my range membership and current Pal, They told my reference that they thought that was a good idea. This might help others also just a thought.

Ah, the trill of buying. Just bought my first shotgun off a fellow nut. Went to gun shop looking for a nice little .22 handgun, to practice with. Picked up 5 boxes of .22LR & a box of 20 gauge shells. I feel good. :)

Sent mine in Mar 14, received by them on the 16th. I know it won't show up for a little while online, but I still check several times a day anyways.

hey guys, my name is shahzad kayani, new to the forum, currently living in ontario, canada. Plan to go too shooting ranges after i get my licenses.

I shipped out my results and application for the restricted and non restricted pal on feb 2, 2016. It was received on Feb,5,2016, the reference's phone interview was completed about 2 weeks ago, i also called a few days after my reference was interviewed and they said that they have all the info they need and they told me to check back again in 3-4 weeks which is a very long time.
Now it is march 28, and license has still not been issued.

Seems unusual? from what i'm reading , most people were issued licenses usually 28 days after the application was received to them.

Incorrect 28 days is the minimum Federal required wait time before it can be issued. 45 days is the number they shoot for if application and your background is perfect. if you have a history with the police then they will open an investigation and they will take there time with it.
