Shorten PAL Approval Times

Called cfo today (halton region) and was told that she hadn't even looked at it yet and that she'd get around to looking at it in the next few feeks. Miramichi sent it to cfo last week of december. Are they stupid or think that I am?!?

I too am from the region. my forms were recievedby RCMP january 3rd 2012, approved by CFO ontario today (jan 24th) will be issued on exactly 28 days. Not sure why you are getting screwed. I called CFO and they were so nice and friendly and pushed it through with out me asking.

TO FLYINGHOST

They do a phone interview with you and two references ask questions like have you suffered from depression, gone bankrupt, had a relationship break up, any criminal charges, problems with violence.

Mine is not for work. It is for hunting/pleasure.

call 705 3295524. you may need to leave a VM with your phone number and name, she got back to me 2 days later but pushed it through in less than 5 minutes.

Edit: If i could leave a positive comment i would. Cant recall her name but she was extremely friendly. Amazing service.

Her name started with a C i believe. There is the main line 705-329 5222 and the one i gave you. The 5524 is a direct number for someone. If you have a common first and last name like myself, be prepared to wait a long time if you cant get through.

She told me it was a good thing i called or else i'd be waiting for a while since I imagine there were some questionable people with my name. Plus there is around a month + backlog.

He said to check the mail it should be arriving by next week

Nice to see they are being issued out at a decent wait. My friend's BF did his PAl back in Oct and is still waiting. I told him to call his CFO and inquire but said he's not in a rush. Ah well.

Well they got my test results, updated my status, I will call tomorrow and see if I can get my interview, after that I will get my two references to call back to back, should be done by mid-week :)

All interviews done licence approved I should have it in two weeks
:)
Finished RPAL course November 28 got approved January 25th not bad at all

Well called my cfo's office yesterday after a little over two months since I sent in my app. for a PAL and the gentleman I spoke with said there's nothing wrong with it and I should be receiving my license shortly.Checked online this morning and it says my license has been issued :) You know something tells me I should have called in awhile ago :bangHead: Anyways I am very happy to say the least and would like to thank all here that have prompted me to not sit idle and just wait for my license to arrive cause who knows how long that could take. Still have to wait though ;)

Hi all, new here. I challenged my PAL on Jan 15, mailed it out on Jan 16. I just found this thread and didn't think to get a mail receipt. Would the 27 be too early to call and see if they have received it yet?

I mailed my RPAL registered Jan 13th. It just showed up today (25th) on the online RCMP website today as received Jan 17th. :D

Check the website in a few days.

You can call the moment it shows up on the RCMP's site. But there's nothing you can do until then.

The recepit just lets you know when 'the clock' starts ticking, and of course to tell you it did get there.

Called CFO today, and apparently the holdup we a "missing" paper from my application. I had provided this paper when I submitted the application in the first place. the CFO lady checked my file, confirmed the paper was provided and approved the licence on the phone.

A minute later the status on the CFC site was updated with the approval.

Dec 14th - Jan 26 ... license approved 43 days after CFC received my initial application and 13 days after I received my stamped results from CFO. Submitting the application without the stamped results saved me about 30+ days (According to my calculations)...

According to the online status my pal has been issued. I called the Alberta CFO today and they would not give me my pal #. They said I needed to wait to get the card. They said you can't posses any firearms or ammo without physically possessing the card and that there is no reason why I should need the number. I had mentioned that I wanted to buy something online. It's funny as others have mentioned that before and were given their pal online.
