Shorten PAL Approval Times

35 Days !!!!ovrec lol, i know its hasn't been that long, but its done and sitting on someone's desk and they won't look at it because they say my 28 days aren't up yet......which is wrong.

Are you sure? If that's the case, then someone needs their vision checked. I'm on 38 days and counting....

Yes, but if your Regional officer wasn't on vacation......you'd have your license issued. Mine isn't. They are just refusing to look at it for another 2 weeks.:bangHead: Why?? Because they can.

License issued

Well......how about that.

Here is a break down of my application process

June 18th--Xpresspost application without stamped course results.

June 21st-- Application received by RCMP

July 10th--shows up on-line and CC charged for application process payment

July 18th--receive and fax stamped course results in the AM. later that afternoon, all three interviews done. Hit's the CFO's desk that day for final approval.

July 25th--4pm LICENSE ISSUED. w:h:

Total of 35 days after the RCMP received my app to License issued.

Now just to settle down and pick a Firearm and start the ball on joining a Gun Club.

did you call in again today, or it just showed up online as good to go?
Im a day behind you on when they recieved it, and on interviews completed... so hoepfully mine will pop up tomorrow

I phoned again today. I hate waiting. When i called, the officer (again very nice) told me the file had been assigned to an officer. Right away i knew it would get approved today. She all but hinted at that anyway;)

Well I know what Ill be doing tomorrow then haha. If harassing them with phone calls gets the job done, then so it shall be

ps. were you able to get your PAL number to start doing purchases?

Congratulations! LOL, funny how the message sequence went there. Now you can rest easy. Personally, I'm researching the best vest to get. ;)

So enlighten me, by the way. Do I still have to wait for Labelle to OK mine, or can I call the supervisor like you did and get it done sooner?

Thanks.

I wouldn't call it harassing. Do that and you might never get it.

I simply call and ask for the status of my application.
Haha, very true. I guess I should have worded that better.

Although, I just called and it seems like I got the first person you spoke with... she said "Everything is good to go, its just awaiting the 45 day mandatory wait period."

Someone on their end needs to get straightened out it seems.

do i send both copies of my cfsc and crfsc? i just got them back with the stamp (im in ontario) and each course has 2 copies, do i send both of those to NB or can i keep one for myself? saves me a trip to photocopy and speeds it up by a day or two :p

EDIT i know to send them an original document, the potential copy would be for MY collection. EDIT

There is no 45 day waiting period. The CFO told me another two weeks and it was apporved the next day:bangHead: unbelieveable.

When was your 28 day period up? and when were your interviews done?

I have no idea why yours went to a Regional Police officer. But, i'm only 45mins or so from Orillia, maybe thats why they kept it.

28 day wait was up on the Friday the 20th. Interviews were both completed early Thursday.

Well the person I spoke to seems to think the 28 day wait period is now 45, because she specifically said "just waiting on the 45 day wait period now"

My interview were done last Weds. So was my 28 day waiting period. License issued yesterday at 4pm. So expect your license to be issued later today (now) or Friday afternoon.

What I did per my instructor for a PAL.
Send one stamped CAFC 332.
Send the original CAFC 921 but make a copy for yourself.
My application now has a number and is in progress.
