You got that right! I went from a relentless online checker to a relentless mailbox checker! LOL. Still no dice for me, but I'm confident it should be real soon. Congrats nitpicker, and glad to see everything is falling into place 84fuegoturbo.

Happy New Year...my license arrived in today's mail.

Interesting that the back of the card indicates "issued by the Chief Firearms Officer of British Columbia under the authority of the Firearms Act Statutes of Canada"...the cover letter is from the RCMP not from the BC CFO

Congrats!

Cool :) Wait 6 or 7 days and you can call in sick so you can wait for the mailman and go shopping lol

Yes, thanks for bringing that up...LOL...I'm going up to the Hat on Friday with my 12 Ga to check it out, now that I can buy cartridges and legally carry the shotgun. I may stop at Pullen's on the way and order the GSG 1911 that I have been coveting. I'm heading south next week for a few weeks so it would be ready for pick up when I get back and I can load up with accessories south of the border. Now if I can just remember all that orientation day stuff...seems to long ago.

Sorry Nitpicker. At least you can head up to the range now that you have that little piece of plastic! Funnily enough we were at Pullens the other day and were looking at a GSG 1911 but in 22 caliber for a friends son, didn't notice whether they have other calibers in stock right now. They do have a CZ 75 though.
Being down south will definitely make your transfer time go by faster, have fun!

p.s. I called the BC CFO this afternoon to check on the status of my 2 transfers, they must be getting slammed now the holidays are over, I was on hold for 20 minutes before I gave up, patience wasn't my strong suit today! I'll give them a try again tomorrow morning.

Congrats to those who got a nice New Years present in the form of their license, and to those still waiting may it happen soon!

Yes it's the .22 at Pullens that I am after ...for target practice because .22 ammo is so cheap. Later I may get a 1911 in 9mm if I decide to go IPSC and the .22 will always make a good cheap volume practice gun. From what I've read they handle and shoot just like the bigger caliber...less recoil so you can shoot them all day.
Friday I am meeting a friend at the range who is bringing a collection of pistols and rifles for me to try...should be fun.

Good Luck with your transfer

Thanks Nitpicker and Jekn, already went shopping, bought an MP 9mm from a fellow CGN member a while back. He was kind enough to hold it for me until i got my Rpal. Wow almost 3 months, now the new wait time begins, the transfer and delivery, the plastic in the mail then the dreaded ATT lol!

Congrats to all who received theirs recently!

Well lucky you, they had one in stock on Saturday! Nice that you get to try out a bunch of different rifles and pistols Friday that will be fun.
I tried out a number of 9mms in Vancouver, a Sig 226 (loved it) CZ75 (loved it) an H&K (hated it) among others, I ended up buying a CZ75 SP01 Shadow as I do plan to shoot IPSC at some point, but I bought a S&W M&P 22 pistol from Pullens for the same reason you're buying the GSG, cheap to shoot! Can't wait to have them both in my hands!

Pullens is a great spot...Hope you have them in your hands soon

RCMP received my application PAL/R-PAL today. How long will it take to show up in their system

Should I call them after 2 weeks of showing up in their system for my interview and have my references call them after that? I am in Ontario.

It will likely take 20 days before it shows up online. I don't think they'll let you do your interviews until close to the 28 day mark. They called us for our interviews on the first business day after the 28 day waiting period.
Good luck!

Thank you for the quick reply. I have been contemplating getting a licence since 1998. It only took me 15 years or so to take the exam another 28 wont hurt.

You are on your way...if you read back a few pages, I and many others posted our timelines with dates rec'd, dates on line, dates of interviews and issue dates. I think mine was on-line day 19 or so and I called for my interview about 4 days later. It various by province but most seem to get their issue by day 28 then another week to 2 weeks for printing and delivery.
Once you get your issue then call for your ATT and get that going by phone rather than wait until your license arrives...saves a bit of time
Good Luck

I called in today to do my interview, the guy on the line said my files been in progress for 2 days and they'd call me late next week for interview. They received my application on Dec 5. Thought that they would do the interview when i called but wouldn't let me. So I went down to al simmons and bought a glock 22 gen 4. Wet dreams start tonite.
