Shorten PAL Approval Times

License was issued on Friday, should have it in the mail by my next days off :D that will be a 4 month wait from them receiving it, to my door. I'm happy this wait will soon be over.

I'm about sick of waiting. Challenged the course middle of March and the 1st of April I sent my app in. The second it was sent I realized even though my guaranteer signed and printed his name on the back of my photo I never PRINTED my name on it. So while it was being sent away (start of April) I called and asked if this was of concern. The answer I got was "no, as long as your guaranteer has signed and printed his name." Beginning of AUGUST I call to see what's taking so long, and find out that they were JUST gonna call me and tell me that gee, I didn't print my name on the back of the photo. I asked if I could just send another one away with all the info instead of having to wait another two weeks to receive it in the mail, print my name and send it off. So after they spent 20 mins checking that out, ya it was ok. Sent my picture away right then and there. Just called, it's now the middle of September and they still haven't started processing it. "And please be advised it may take the CFO up to 12 weeks to finish your application". Seriously at the point now where I don't even care, it's been almost six months and they still haven't started processing it. Guess this year I'm gonna be hunting with rocks and a prayer. What a joke.

Yeah I'm not happy about getting the run around six ways to Sunday. But what can I do? Like I say a guy tries to do everything he can and near as I can tell when I call them all I'm doing is interrupting coffee time. It would be one thing if it's been a couple months, whatever but almost six and they still haven't started processing it? If this is all sposed to be a joke I'm not laughing.

Yea it seems it can be a tough process. I made sure and scanned all my application info and forms...thankfully. I sent my application in at the end of July and called a week ago and they had finally started processing it. But they had my address and phone incorrect. I checked my scanned copy and it was fairly legible. So I got that fixed and hopefully it will be my only hiccup.

I will probably make a thread in 2 weeks or so to see how many people are going. Be great to meet people from this great site.

Which show?

I can't look after all of the threads etc etc... too much #### to do. But given the date and your location I'm guessing Orangeville?

If so regardless of if I can be there blah blah... be sure to look up Monica.. she has a BIG display at most shows and is a very nice woman to say the least. Family friend of my close friend :)

Yes , I am talking about the Orangeville show.

I can't believe that BS, of all the 50 days I have been waiting and has been called every week since appear online ask for missing information and such, until now the final stage for interviewing, thy told me my photo is missing my name on the back so they send back for me to write it down, confirmed it. I was like that's bull ***, they should have figure out that long ago when I asked for missing information.

Start writing letter people, we Need to get ripped of that office.

On a side note, I upgrade my PAL to R-PAL.

Just an update, I got the photocopy of my photo then write my name down, fire it back by express post. Called again this morning since it show received by tracking number, all she said it took some time so give it a week and call back, man that's disaster, they sure know how to take their sweet time.

Cut them some slack, its a dangerous job. Monkeys with letter openers and all......

I might to push it a bit more, last time I did they found out the missing information. I asked a friend who work at gun store to call their agent to work out something, that what she found out the missing information, I think I should give another try.

First time PAL application approved today. 109 days in ontario.
Call the CFO guys, leave a msg. They will call you back. Transferred to the RCMP constable looking after my application and she approved it on the spot.
Today's a good day.

im waiting for my PAL to, I called them last week and they told me that it would take 45 days before they would start to process it. I even expressed posted it to help try and speed up the process....waiting sucks....
