That's ###y Jerry. I'd like to get something made in 223 that takes the mdt/aics magpul mags and has a 10-12" barrel. I like my rem 700 aac sd but sometimes I just want shorter. Dont shoot past 200m so don't need a long barrel.

Well, its official! Got my 223 rig ordered. Now to wait for the barrel...

Rem 700 action in 223
McGowan 12" heavy blued 1-8 twist barrel
Black mdt LSS
Black mdt CCS stock
I'll toss my trijicon reflex sight on it and a stubby vertical grip when I get it.

No. It's not that bad. You can also lessen it significantly if you use a brake with a blast shield.

Hopefully they make that a production gun, as that might be the only way we get a Black Collar Arms chassis up into Canada. That rifle is "small batch" to start with, however, so high MSRP and limited availability.

Just a heads up that Bergara is coming out with a shorty of their own in 223, 6.5 and 308. It'll probably be easier and faster to get than the Rem offering.
Not very likely they are only making 200 of them.... too bad if the price was under 2K i'd be more interested.

What optic is everyone running? I was looking for a 1-8, 2-10, or a 3-9 maybe 4-12 power.
Trying to keep it under 1000. I love the looks of the 1-6, 1-8, strike eagle type optics. You have to drop a pretty penny though on them to get a decent one.
Any thoughts?

I put a Leupold VX3HD 4.5-14 on my Spectre. Nice glass without being overly heavy. I love the ZL dial, super quick and easy to use once you know your dope.

Restricted? The .308 Cross with the 16” seems to be restricted. This rifle looks awesome but also very short.
Optic is still in the mail, as well as the tacpro cheek riser.
3 round mags, kinda meh but no one makes after market mags for them. Might put it in a chassis if I can find one.
Undecided on if I want a muzzle device.
