So,

I was (am) wondering what people here are using to carry their ammo about?

Whether it be 'tacticool' or hunting, what have you found that works?
What have you tried that doesn't work?
Vests?
Pouches?
Pockets?
Knapsacks?
Slings?
Weight?
Ease of use?
Quality? (wear)
Price? - Value for $?
Mobility?

So let's hear what works and what doesn't and back it up with some pics.

I can't put a image up, because I am not using anything right now, and am looking for ideas. I have been looking at Hamilton Tactical (hometown) and they seem to have some gear from Condor that 'looks' like it would work pretty well...

few ideas for you
this is our new DSC pouch system, has removable 6 shot shell card that can be left in place or pulled out and placed onto velcro on the side of your gun, like a side saddle or put onto anything with velcro

Absolutely nothing wrong with the good old fashioned shell belt, apart from not looking very mall ninja-ish:D

Doing a youtube search there are some crazy ass mall of america ninjas out there. The MOAN's are much more intense then the regular mall ninjas as their equipment goes above the SHTF level and takes it to TEOTWAWKI extreme. Anyways, there are some crazy ass MOAN's with tactical vests that are made of velcro and even more velcro (hmm, velcro my holster WITH pistol to my chest? Not for me right now, thanks), have shells all over the place and they are walking like juiced up steroid gym guys...Not for me right now eithers, thanks Ninja. And, Zombies can hear velcro being ripped open

A regular bandoleer is cheap, proven, and you don't need a transforming vest to carry it.

One of these days I'll figure out how to post a picture right in the thread instead of a link...
I also have been looking at the shello carriers

SJ: do you have any pictures/videos of the gear you sell in use? The pics you put up look to be strapped to a BBQ, and well, my bbq doesn't goto the range with me, so....

The rig in the first video is by OSOE Gear, called a 12 gauge micro rig and will probably outlast your lifespan. They are bombproof. Dave's Surplus and Tactical (top of the page) carries them. If you do a search here or in the gear forum you'll find info. Youtube also has several reviews on them as well.

Yep. They work the best for me. I actually purchased one and had my local seamstress cut the excess off and sew the ends for a "custom fit"... she looked in shock when I brought it in. :)

I favor some kind of over-the-shoulder bag to hold shells, this can be anything from a cheap surplus magazine dump pouch or gas mask carry bag to something like the Olongapo Shotgun Grab and Go bag.

Shoulder bags rock as a main source of ammo because they can hold a ridiculous amount of ammo, are usually cheaper than the other options, are quick to throw on and replenish, and are about as quick to access as anything other than shell caddies.

I find shell loops are alright if you're talking about a fairly small number of shells, that can be situated in a convenient place and aren't too hard to pull out, but IMO they are tedious to deal with in large numbers.

Shell caddies are expensive for the number of rounds they provide, one or two may be alright for an emergency reload but I don't see them as being practical for a main source of ammo.

I have an Olongapo Shotgun Grab & Go Bag on the way...
