TacOrd builds lots of Versamax's on sportsmans too(thats what I had them build me) They typically have a some of each in the build process, just give them a call to confirm details if you want something different.
I'm definitely coming out! Where were you in the fall for the carbine match? You missed a good time.
I'm a shotty newb - What specifically should be done to the lifter?
I just got the basic done by TacOrd, Well worth it. The " Gold Bolt " does absolutely nothing except empty your wallet 
as for the bevelling Im still on the fence for now. will use it this way and see.

You should get the new TacOrd ambi safety, charging handle and bolt release.
LoL, seeing I just got this work done last week im fine with the components I selected ...lol...
The chitty part is I have 2 different stocks on order with Brownells, The Tactical and the Syntech BL OM and both are on B/O so I have a shotgun with no stock ATM.... lol..

I personally did not get the ambi safety but TacOrd's bolt release and charging handle are HUGE improvements over anything I had previously. The TTI bolt release is just tiny in comparison to TacOrd's version. The ridges at the rear does help when you're trying to feel the button with your fingers.
Look at it now. It is forked right? The fork does a good thing which is it keeps the shell aligned. However, when you are jamming shells in there fast, your thumb WILL get caught in the fork. You will BLEED, son. That's why i said try it a few times and you will see what I mean.
What you can do is round out the lifter so that it removes the fork in it. However, since you still want the lifter to be as long as it is, that means you need more material to convert that fork into a bill (rounded shape) and then polish it all up again.
I am not handy welding or anything like that so I got it done by Tacord. Some outfits also just sell a replacement lifter.
I'm in the market (somewhat) for a new one as well and checked out a M3500 at the local LGS.
It didn't seem you could take much off the loading port without obliterating the serial number on one side and the country of origin and manufacturers stamps on the other.
Nice gun other than that, even if the barrel was a bit long.

Love to. Where would I find one?
Casey has these in stock now. I'm looking forward to using one on my new open division build he is doing for me right now. I gave him some input on how they should be as the Taran Tactical ones had some issues with the hardness not being what they should be as I have bent 2 of them when the gun jammed up and needed a helping bump on the charging handle. I tried to get one of the new ones to bend when i was up there last to test one out, and ended up hurting my hand more than the handle. These new ones are really nice.

I got my Stoeger M3K from Dale at Shooters Choice in Vulcan. He also brought one in for a friend. Shooters Choice is great to deal with.
