Using a huge scope on a No.1 is never a problem with the factory mounts... positioning small, compact scopes can present unique challenges without extended eye relief.

The wood may be kinda plain, but it has a nice, straight grain and the fore end shape says Weatherby. I quite like it. I'd stain it a tad darker myself but hey, nice chambering in a No.1.:)
 
Here is my 1990 1-S in 45-70. Mounted on it is a Bushnell Scopechief VI 1.5-4.5 X 20. This is a rugged scope; its been hammered with some pretty heavy loads over the years.

Found this Ruger No. 1 in .300 Win Mag a couple months back. A old gun collecter passed on, his son was selling some of the collection.This gun is MINT! I love it.

I grew up reading S.I.R magazines with my dad as a kid, and remember him telling me how nice these guns were. He was reluctant to give me his M77 or use his certain guns. Now I have his dream gun. Too bad I cant give my dad this gun, my gf bought it for me for xmas.

Cam, I didn't recess the safety on this one.
If I ever get more time (and some money) I will probably build out a #1 out for myself with a number of "ideas" I have had kicking around in my head for a few years. I just have too many half finished projects that need to be cleared out first.
 
Anyone get their hands on last years K1RSI in .308WIN? Love to see some pictures of one other than website product pics. In July, I'll have been waiting for a year for delivery on one.....wondering if it will ever come......
