Show off your Ruger No.1's

I just looked at all the fine rifles again and I noticed that Ardent and Mad_Mikee seem to have custom safeties. That's something I would like on my 1a

My safety isnt overly tricky to be machined. It's not 100% what I wanted but it's what I got back from the gunsmith.
I was hoping to have the whole safety recessed into the tang.

Still you inspired me to look at a replacement or a modification. I could file the front of the safety down a bit so the empty case doesn't hang up, but I saw a replacement made by TROP online. I don't know about getting one in Canada but it is a nice look

I'm also looking at getting a TROP safety. You wouldn't think it would be hard to get here. Has anyone ordered directly from TROP?

I spoke with a friend this morning about the possibility of Africa in 2017. Him and two of my other friends went this last year for a PG hunt and had a blast. I am just starting a young family and just couldn't go, but, so long as oil prices come back in a year I'm for sure going with them in 2017. I'm most definitely taking my No. 1 in .300 H&H. Took a couple pictures of it this morning to get the excitement going:

I've been trying to edit my photos. What do you guys think? Overdone?

Had a new adoptee come to live with me;

Top to Bottom;

No.1-A .223
No.1-RSI .243
No.1-RSI 7X57
No.1-RSI .30/06

P.S - Shell Shucker, don't lighten the picture, you wash out all of the contrast.

I have had quite few No1s over the years and they were great guns but they didn't fit and I didn't want to get the stocks cut.
The only Ruger No1s I really like are the AB models and the Internationals.

Very nice. I've had three #1's but with no where near the quality of wood that yours have. A friend of mine is in to collecting some of the #1 variations and has somewhere around twenty. Again, very nice.

I have a hard time wondering how that 1A in .223 hasn't sold Hoyt.

You have some real beauties there.

Kinda don't want it to go... she can shoot... but some other No.1 junkie will be along soon enough... :(

I am begging the powers that be (and praying) for a No.1-RSI in .45/70 to be produced... I'm on that like "white on rice!"

I love the wood on the 275 Rigby. What OAL are you using in the 7x57? I am struggling with my 1A, It is the first No 1 I have ever owned that wont shoot.

WORK UP!

49.5 grains of RL-19 with 154 Interbonds, Win Brass, CCI LRM 250 primers. Good luck.

Thanks for the tip I have interlocks but cant find any rl-19 I think part of the problem is the 4350. This rifle is driving me crazy but it sure is fun. I have owned one number three in 223, number ones in 25-06, 280, 22-250, 375 H&H, 257 Roberts and now this one. They have all been shooters but this one is going to drive me to drink

What bullet are you shooting? Another load that has been great for me in my 7X57 No.1's is 48.0 grains of W760 under IB/IL 154's, Win brass, WLRM primers...
