As the title suggests .... we want to see your slug gun with rifled barrel .... post a picture.

And while you are at it ... add the group size that you are getting ... and with what ammo ...

Any slug gun hunters out there?

I am not technically competent enough to load a pic but I use a standard 930 Mossberg with a 24" rifled barrel and load my own slugs. I cast 525 gr Lyman Sabot slugs and am refining my loads. Just started a few months ago, so far, I'm able to shoot 15 or so in a row and hit a pie plate size target at 100 yards. My 80 yard loads seem to be much better, with 3-4" groups, for some reason the further 20 yards opens the group up a bit. So, still refining the powder charge, hull/wad combo. My best loads so far are with Unique, Remington STS hulls, downrange yellow wads and a cork spacer. Great fun to shoot, easy to make.

Just picked up an 870 express 3 barrel combo with a rifles slug barrel, what kind of optic are you guys using on yours? Will post some pics once I get a moment to snap some good pics of it.

Mossy 500, 24" barrel, Bushnell 3-9x 40mm Banner Dusk & Dawn HD optics. Consistent 3"-4" groups @ 75 meters.

If Hastings made a 20" 870 fully rifled iron sight_non-cantilevered I'd be all over it. Nice looking rig 0faustus0 and thanks for starting this thread because a good 870 rifled barrel is the last one I need to give me about any barrel option a guy could want..... short of one of those 7 foot long skeet/trap barrels :p

I like traditional wood & steel ;)

#1bcshooter, I am with you .... I love wood furniture ... I wish Remington (or somebody else) would make a wood stock with a higher cheek riser to use with scopes ... :-(

But the Magpul is the only option I found so far that works for me with the cantilever and the scope ...

Nice rigs #1bcshooter !

I gotta look for one of those raised 870 wood stocks one of these days. Wish Hogue made one.

Yes, the raised Monte Carlo stock aligns perfectly with the rifle sights on an 870 .... at least for me .... and it seems for #1bcshooter as well ... :D

But this is a smoothbore barrel .... so it does not count for this thread .... ;)

Hasting did make one. My brother has one. If you have a 24" cantilever he will trade his 20" non cantilever for it. Barrel has less than 20 shots threw it.

I couldn't wait any longer for a Hastings barrel for my 870 so I bought a Savage 220. Using Remington accutips I can get 4" groups at 150 yards.

I also am not computer literate enough to post pictures. I use an 870 Super Slug, 25 inch fluted rifled barrel. Bushnel Banner 1.5 to 4.5, with Remingtom Accutip 385 grain sabot slugs, gives me a 3 inch group at 100 yards if I do my part.

Here's mine:

Mossberg 935 3.5" chamber 24" rifled cantilever barrel in Max 4

Browning A bolt fully rifled 22" barrel

Ultra slug hunter 12ga 24" rifled barrel in hardwood stock

Ultra slug hunter deluxe 20ga 24" rifled barrel in laminate stock

Owned Savage 210F before but prefer the smoothness and finishing on the Browning.

I was brave enough to fire some Lightfield commander IDS plus 3.5" slug few months ago on the bench without retinal detachment so I survived the test lol.

Actually it kicks less than my Ruger Alaskan in 416 Ruger and its about the same as my 375H&H.

I have the same gun with a bushnell banner 1.5x4.5 ...can get 3-4" groups to 150yrds, shooting 2 3/4" hornady SST
The only thing different with my rig is a cheek pad,....keeps my eye inline with scope much better.
Nice choice.
