Takes 5 Rounds right? How does that thing kick with factory .44 mag? My 629 with 4.2 inch bbl kicks hard lol.
Yes, 5-rounder on the smaller L-frame. It's pretty punishing with 240-grainers and the wood grips don't help, but I think it would be manageable with the original rubber grips. It's not a gun for limp-wristed wimps.
Prob be sweet shooting .44 specials.
It's endless fun shooting with Bullseye and JHP's. I don't bother with shorter brass as it makes the cylinder harder to clean. The sights are surprisingly good for punching paper.

Love the polished look! Did you use a buffing wheel?
Id love to see a side my side shot with a 629 4.2 inch bbl, to gauge it. I have been thinking about getting one.

Love the polished look! Did you use a buffing wheel?
Yes, on an ordinary bench grinder. 1000-grit finish to remove tooling marks and use scratches, then a stitched muslin wheel with Greystar compound, followed by a loose muslin wheel with rouge.
The only downside is never being able to actually touch it again. Shiny stainless fingerprints like crazy.
