You might feel different if you held them side by side. It's like driving an Oldsmobile, then a Cadillac.
Sure, both will get you from a to b. One just feels better.
There's no comparison between the two, and they arent making these anymore, so the supply is limited to what is out there.
The price is only limited to what someone will pay for it.
I probably will never have one again.
They were sure nice to have when I did though. Beautiful things they are.

Totally agree.

My first post here. I thought I would start with a few pics of my 44 mag Anaconda.
It is not as shinny as some of the snakes here.

I hope this works with the photos

Good day.

How does one tell if the grips on their Python are original? Or can you?

I have a Diamondback and the grips move a bit - really slight but you can feel it. I was told everything on the gun is original but once I had it in my hand.... Well I'm not sure.

Thanks

Prices however aren't going anything but higher . I picked up my last one , a 6 inch minty for 1750.00 in 2013. Like I said in a previous post Pythons were
pretty but nothing special not too long ago. Great guns, beautifully finished, and a trigger pull .... well ya know. Over the years I bought 3. Wish it was 30.

You can ALWAYS find nice blue Pythons on GUnbroker for <$1800. Even factoring in our crap $ + import fees and you will always find a better deal than on EE where idiots pay $4-5K for these things (no box/no papers). Absolutely no need for that foolishness if you bother to look and research.
I see 4, 6" blue Pythons today for <$2K all in 9/10 shape.

Nobody is paying $4K-$5K for blue pythons with no box or papers here on the EE. Average is $2400 to $2600 for a nice condition blue gun. On Gun broker, $1800 will get you a shooter grade Python. Add the exchange rate and you're at $2350.... add import fees and 3 way shipping (to US dealer to Canadian dealer to you) to the tune of about $500 and you're at about $2850 and then the GST for a total of about $3K. Do the math

Your willing to pay 6000 for a stainless???

Yes. Bright stainless with labeled box or Colt archive letter ........ any day of the week. It will cost you a LOT more to land one here from the USA with proof that it's a factory finish.

And a Double Diamond bright stainless?? Well if you were watching the EE recently, you'll know that I paid more than $6K for that one I just bought.

When you compare a shooter grade blue Python to an unfired limited edition bright stainless, it's like comparing a standard 289 68 Ford Mustang to a 68 Shelby Cobra 428 KR.

Bull####, look at EE. Open your eyes, it happens regularly. And it never costs $500 to cover import fees and 3 way shipping lol. You must be calculating using Euros. And what about the idiots selling stainless Pythons for $6K or more!!!!!!!!! Bah haha.

Bright Stainless 6" Pythons on Gunbroker for max $4K (MAX!) with ALL papers and box and the Colt letter is waste at $75. It means nothing. YOu can check the serial on Colt's web site to ensure its Sainless, blue or BTST. The Double Diamand is nice but its a regular stainless Python with a funky rollmark, and should be paired with a 1911 in a nice wooden case. Without the case/1911 its not a $6K+ gun, at least not anywhere else but Canada.

If anyone wants to import a Python, PM me and I'll set you up with my 'Python bloodhound' in Georgia who finds them all the time at fair prices.
