I am in my third P-226 and I use it for duty pistol competition, many others in CPCA also use it. I have worn out two barrels over the years and I only recall one FTF in my early Classic P-226 because it had collected so much gunk, after ~3500 rounds without cleaning, that the slide wouldn't go all the way forward! They are reliable to the extreme and have great ergonomics. In my experience testing 9 mm's from a ransom rest, they are consistently more accurate at 50 m than most, if not all, out of the box, duty-style pistols. Bang per buck, the Glock 17 and the M&P 9 are better buys but I still prefer my P-226.

A good, basic P226 will print three inches at 25 yards. The 220 prints 1.75 off a rest. Oh BTW, it's all metal and the German made pistols are the cat's a$$! The P226 is a purpose built 9mm combat pistol designed and built by Germans; think about it
