Sig P226 - is there another gun?

No glock for me. I will be buying a sig p226. The Vancouver store started me looking at a Walther P99 tagged at $1250, and I think I saw a blued sig p226 for $1450. So I looked online and saw $550 for the Walther and $700 for the Sig. 20% US/CDN = $660 and $840. Adding $50. for shipping and FFL = $710 and $890. That's a saving of $540 and $610. How much could I hope for the Vancouver dealer to bend his price? 10%? If he reduced price 20%(doubt it), then I'd still save $340 and $290. That's what I get after "doing the math".
Maybe your math has to do with the US gun store that you go to?
Or are you talking used guns? I am talking new guns for comparison sake.
Online, I saw a barely used Sig p226 .357Sig stainless, rail, nite sites with 2 clips, holster, case, lock, etc, for $700 US (my cost to import in CDN = $890). What would that cost in your gun store? Oh yes, you mentioned 9mm as well, I am looking at .40 and .357sig (I think that's more money)

The way that XE.com has it is that your $700 US gun comes out to $826.32 CAD. Who's charging you $65 to import? Questar charges more, IIRC. And, in the event that you do go that route, tell me how you like your pistol 6 months from now, while I shoot mine three days after I buy it from TSE or someone like that.

Honestly? Sure, you can save a few bucks. But, I'd rather spend more and have it faster. I'm impatient.

LOL! I would love to answer you, but you have so many acronyms in there I don't know what you said. IIRC, TSE, but I like your US to CDN math better than mine.
Cheers

lol....the guy behind the counter literally looked like WILD EARP and wasn't in any mood to talk. He was a straight to business kind of guy!

I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW SIG P226ST .40 S&W HERE IN VANCOUVER - JUST WENT ON SALE FOR $1109CDN
where from? refabrished?

I got it at Italian Sporting Goods on Renfrew in Vancouver. It is brand new. I was just about to buy a refurbished at Lever Arms (they just got it because I have been watching their site). Lever has a price of $1050 on theirs so that is also a great deal - stainless .40 S&W. I just phone Italian because I have been dealing there recently and asked if he had one. Got lucky - was their last one and he just put it on the web.

You say its a SIG 226 ST in several of your threads...you realize that the ST model is made from a solid block of stainless! If you got a full stainless SIG for near a $1000 bucks...I may have to go buy one.

Sorry I'm not as smart as you pros, I see there is a ST model, I think mine will probably be a p226 with stainless finish, although I have not seen it yet. Maybe it is a 226ST. My wife went and paid for it and I'll pick it up on Saturday.

your one lucky man...ST or not....i am forever jealous of your new toy..

Thanks skydude, I am really excited about it. Probably won't get to shoot it for a few weeks though, but I'll sure be dry firing it all day long.

I"M GLAD I COULD HELP STIR UP THE "GUNSLINGER" IN YOU. A GUY HAS TO HAVE A MISTRESS, AND WITH THE FLESH ONES IT'S A LOVE-HATE THING, THEY LOVE YOU UNTIL THEY HATE YOU, THEN YOU PAY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.
WITH MY NEW .40 CAL. MISTRESS, MY WIFE PAID FOR IT, LIKES IT, AND WILL PROBABLY USE IT TOO. CAN'T SAY THAT ABOUT TOO MANY OF THE FLESH ONES.
