SIG SAUER SSG 3000 Review

Range report with grizzly brake:

Holy hell I get more kick shooting the norc ar15 than the ssg 3000 with the grizzly muzzle brake. Will buy again. Slight regret on the pointy end though. Poked myself by accident (because im an idiot, if you havent learnt that by now) but it just looks so good.

Lol dad wants one on his trg now....

Any change in accuracy or scope settings?

Profit River ordered one in for me....4-6weeks out. 3 week wait now and having a hard time with patience, hopefully they pull through and I can have a load prepared before the snow hits the ground.

My ssg has finally arrived! Gave it a cleaning and tried a couple scopes on it.
Rifle seems very nice. The bolt is so smooth, especially after a dab of some Swiss grease!
Trigger seems nice as well.

Quite heavy, recoil should be low.

Will post pics when I get a chance

Wanstalls shipped this out to me fast , well packaged too!

Did anyone ever get a OD or FDE SSG that they can post photos of? ... Or is it a myth like the elusive Bigfoot?

Has anyone considered ordering one of these, a GRS Bolthorn? I can't find any reviews online. What do you guys think of the look of it?

Okay so it's not just me then. The lines just don't look right and the grip and little rubber shoe on the toe of the butt just look out of place. I want a folding stock so bad and this is all I can find.
should have bought a different rifle if you really wanted a folder in the first place

Yes I realize that now. I thought there were more aftermarket options available. This rifle appealed to me as it had a good trigger and good barrel right out of the box. All the advice for 700's included replacing a lot of parts and I don't care for the parkerized finish on them or the amount of recalls they have went through.

you could contact MDT and see if they have any plans to make their chassis for the ssg, they might be interested since the only option is really ugly lol.

I would not worry about folding stocks unless you are jumping out of a plane with it or need to fit it in a smart car. The only time I use the folder is when I have to remove the bolt from my rifle (almost never).

I'd have to agree. Mine only came by accident. Otherwise I didn't care for the massive increase in price difference. (about 400$)

What is the price point on this stock? I would think a Mcmillan would be a nicer fit for this rifle if you don't like the stocker. All depends what you want I guess. Buy once, cry once!

I think they are going to be about $1500 if you are talking about the GRS one. MDT is also supposed to be putting one out this year that I assume will take AR grips and stocks. I would have bought the Sig chassis in a heartbeat but they never produced it. Same with the 10 round mags they made a very limited run of.
