Israeli Defense is an active vendor at ebay. I got mine from them there. Good luck.
Found it, thanks for the help.

Where did you get the cheek piece? I tried looking around on the web and I don't see one made for the original SKS stock. Thanks.WE went the easy route on these SKS's... UTG Tri-Rail receiver covers were filed down for very tight fit... installed bolt buffers and "scope-protecting" shell deflectors... mounted UTG 4X32mm Bug Busters... this inexpensive set-up is holding up... POI has not moved yet... thru 500 rounds (fingers crossed), pinned mag (5 shot), 1" butt pads, and Choate cheek pieces;

This thread is great. I am looking for an opinion here. I have recently purchased (and installed) some equipment for my SKS, including a NcStar-SKS-Scope-Tri-Mount. I am a nube at this stuff and am looking for ideas for optics/toys to mount to this. I was thinking sight/laser but welcome input of opinions and experience from a group I consider to be knowledgeable about such things.
Thanks in advance.

stores.polytechparts.com/-strse-577/870-dsh-689/Detail.bokLots of talk about where to get rear sights, but not too much guidance on where to buy front sites. I'm going to get the TS200 peep sight from Hi Cal for the rear and would like a good fiber optic for the front. Or the something Williams I've read about?
Anyone have any links on where and what to get? I also wouldn't mind getting a decent rubber butt pad that's black for the original stock. Any recommendations would be great. Thanks
I am now a convert and part of the 1% that knows that the reciever cover can be made 100% stable for a sight and it will hold a zero,,,
Rock solid, and can be taken off for cleaning, replaced, fired, no need to re-zero,, I'll add pictures once I take a couple
This is from Marcus on Survivers SKS Boards. Total cost 1 x 1/4-20 round head bolt
Guys, there is an alternative. Use my 1/4-20 button head adaption and she will hold zero and is removable for cleaning.
1. Remove the dust cover pin, bolt, carrier and spring. (pin will need to ground)
2. Replace the dust cover.
3. Do not drill the hole. Tap a 1/4-20 (or finer) hole all the way out the other side from right to left. THE DUST COVER MUST BE ON WHEN YOU DO THIS. Or the threads won't line up properly.
4. Screw in the 1/4-20 heat treated, button head. Cut it off close to flush. Take it off, trim it, blue the end.
5. Put it all back together and go sight her in.

The hole is too big for a 1/4x20 tap. It measures 15/64 on my russian. I used m7x1mm tap. very nice threads. the 1/4x20 would be too shallow of a cut IMO.
