Yes,and the ones from CTC that are going back are better quality on average than these ones, I saw every oneand out of 140 ish there may have been two that were what I would consider as bad as these folks are commenting about! A couple bad finishes, some surface rust ( very light) on springs and metal but not much at all!
Normally I don't chime in on these type of posts. However, I live close by and observed that these $209 rifles were blued (from the ones they observed) and in good shape. I trundled over to the store. The only SKS's I could find were four at the back of the store in the used/surplus rack. I asked if these were the $209 specials. I was told these were the ones. They were black painted metal; sanded or blistered wood and generally in poor condition; not even close to what I had envisioned. I did find a Cooey 64 .22 minus the sight elevator for $100 that I did buy. Based on this and a couple other experiences with this company I'm now kinda on the fence about regularly stopping by . Not sure I follow the reasoning as to how this possibly could work out positively. Maybe quickly initiate another sale?
Got mine today. Ordered on the first day. Only requested chrome lined barrel. What showed up was a 1954 Tula, Blued with a dark reddish brown stock. Overall, in quite nice condition. I'm very happy with it. It is my first centre fire rifle.
I ordered 4 for the kids and wife, got none, called them today and they gave a weird computer glitch excuse.. so I guess I am not getting any. I even found a lead on 8 cases of non-corrosive ammo for cheap... maybe I'll just buy more vz58's on the EE, better anyway, now that I have some ammo coming.

Got mine, ended up being a light refurb with a new barrel. Bolt, receiver, dust cover and trigger mech matched. Shiny bayonet, force matched stock with a few dings but with a good finish. Overall much better than I had prepared myself for given some of the comments.

Well, I received my SKS. I opened the box and unwrapped a non blued rifle. Not a good start. I disassembled the rifle and the springs in the trigger group were heavily rusted. At that point I stopped looking. Not as advertised. I called Wanstalls thinking I would have a battle trying to return it, but was pleasantly surprised. I spoke to a gentleman named Ryan. He was apologetic and explained that they ended up returning their remaining stock to the distributor due to the condition of the rifles. He said he would cover the postage to return the rifle. I appreciate his courteous service and making the best of this unfortunate situation. I hope others receive the same service I did if they had to return their rifle. Caveat Emptor.
Good to hear, if you still want one, $250 at Westrifle, matching #s also includes sling and 2 pouches, etc. Most don't include that anymore. They did include shipping but did not see that when I was looking at their sks. And you can look at pics of your choice and ask them questions! So for $40 more, you get a nicer rifle with $40 worth of extras!

Just the odd minor ding on the stock. From previous comments I was prepared to do some work on it, but other than shooting it I won't be touching anything! Anyways, with lots of negative posts in here there were some real winners as well, I'm guessing those don't report back as much. Anyways, I've been casually looking for my lone SKS for over a year now and this is significantly better than anything I found in Cabelas, BP and CT. Thanks Ryan, love it!
