This is how you choose to spend your time as a grown adult? SadWhy not just get a 30-30 then?
Light, easy to carry, more accurate etc etc.
O, sorry, does not fill your mall ninja fantasies.

Not going to lie, the SKS is the gun I've never wanted until now. I'm in the works of trading one gun for an SKS-D and hoping to pick up a Yugoslavian SKS soon.
I have had a few sks-d. They are fairly poor quality. The yugo will be way better.
So this might sound dumb. Is there going to be a shortage of 7.629x39 ammo in the future? If the sks and type 81 get prohibit (they will) in turn will this ammo fade out on the market? Time to stock up maybe?
Ammo manufactured in China might be scarcer in the future...![]()
If I'm shooting brass, I take the piston out of the gas tube.
It becomes a straight pull bolt action and places the cases gently beside me with no dents.
If hunting, the piston stays in.
To 350 Mag:
The problem with the SKS is that it throws the brass 2 tables away at the range. This is not very conducive to keeping the brass for reloading. Ejection is rather positive... I have many rifles, some expensive and some not so much. But the SKS is one of my favourites. I kinda like the simplicity and ruggedness of the design. They are inexpensive, but not cheaply made. It would probably cost a pretty penny to manufacture those rifles in present times.
Funny how when ARs were available, almost every thread about the SKS always went negative fast; now they are the best thing ever! Funny how that works.
I had mine before I had my AR; I like mine. No complaints. More accurate than it should be for what it is. Reliable, and fully machined! Other than heavy; what is not to like?
