So, any CGN's up for a road trip?

How about the weekend of June 7th and 8th?

:(:(:( I just checked with my wife and that is her convocation weekend. The weekend before or after would work but like Rustysdream mentiond, don't change the time if the majority prefers June 7-8.

Well, if I may suggest something...
In case if there are enough people interested but 50% can't make it on the 7th-8th weekend, let's break up to two groups and form a second group for June 15th weekend.
I'm sure the first group will miss enough gophers for the rest of us. :D

I would be interested. Just put an new sear in my CZ (trigger is awsome now)and got a scope on order for my 17 HMR:D. I just have to wait until closer to that date to make sure that there isn't any conflict with work (gotta work out of town at various times). Sojunds like a great weekend!

Just to give you guys a heads up, make sure you have at least three rifles with you if you plan on taking out as many prairie rats as you can. That way you can alternate guns while the others cool.

For sure I can't do it. But here's hoping that you get a great turn out, good shooting and great times. Don't forget your cams, 'cause we surely want some pics of this event. :dancingbanana:

I like the idea of two weekends, if required. I guess we'll have to wait and see just how many confirm, and to get the rest of the details worked out. If any Sask boys can get me phone numbers to farm and sports shops around that area, it would be much appreciated. I tried calling one last night, but was too late and they were closed. Are these types of shops open until 9:00 your way on thurs and fri as well?

Definatly take three different guns. I was south of Swift Curent last year with my 3 sons and had a blast. I had taken 12 guns with us and barrels all got hot. The weather was so hot the truck also overheated. We took along 22's, 17HMR, 22WMR and 223. Farmers in the area didn't have aproblem with the center fires but would direct you to a different area where ther weren't as many shooters. The farmers were also supplying as many 22LR as you could shoot.

I may come down with the boys for an outing and get together it sure was fun last year.

Pharoah and I got together tonight at Timmies to iron out a few details.

First off we both agreed that the weekend of June 14, 15 seem to work best for everybody, so we are just going to do that date.

We will get a sign up sheet posted in a bit to get confirmation.

Tentively at my cousins farm 15 miles North of Tompkins Sk.

There was at least one other member here that had land in or near Swift Current? Or at least room for campers? Gyman98 that be you im talking about!! Give us some details of what you have, where you are, etc...so we can finalize location.

If we go to my familys farm there is room for as many people that show up.

We will of course have maps available for download, and we will post signs at any intersections for you to follow.

Bring whatever guns you want, but keep in mind that depending on terrain centerfires may be dissallowed...

Vehicles will be restricted to trails only.

Common sense must be used at all times... ;)

Questions? Comments? Dirty jokes?

I just have yet to contact my cousin to make sure it will be ok.

I also believe that pharoah is going to try and round up some more landowner numbers?

The more land we can secure to hunt on will help us all to have a great time of it!

You bet. Anyone who wants to participate is welcome just remember, safety first. I've got a PM out to the mods hoping to get a temporary sticky, and I'll start a new thread as a sign up when I get word back. Until then, everything looks to be a go. Provided the weather works out, it'll be fun. You will need to bring whatever you need to be self sufficiant for the length of the stay. Food and ammo as a point. Bring enough to keep you happy. C2K tells me where we will be, it's withing a 20 or so minute drive for re-supplies. But it will be easier to just bring everything you think you may need. As for ammo, bring plenty. 1 or 2 bricks of .22 probably won't be enough. Start stocking up now, as you won't want to run out if the shooting gets good. Your not getting mine. ;)
