So what's left for 308 semi autos in Canada?

Hybrid...

ok, wtf is that.. parts list? :)

M1 plus a cut down m305 (7.62x51) barrel and gas system with a socom style sight and misc flash hider. The only part that needs modification is the original M1 op rod. I still need to sort out a stock and test fire it but it seems like it will all work. The original M1 was in rough shape, stock badly warped, rifling mostly gone/pitted, this project started many years ago when they where not worth much and it has been sitting unfinished. However, due to the the turd out east I figure I should get it running now so I have a semi that I can shoot. I'm looking for a scout mount to put a forward mounted scope on to it as well. I'm hoping that being a WWII vintage with a specific exemption in the law for the 8rd enblocks that it will not be banned in the near future.

ah, umm.. interesting. My M1 currently has a criterion .308 barrel and the shorter op rod... but this path is interesting to say the least. The gas system on the m14 is somewhat better (and lighter) than the M1 for sure.

Good I say, AT this point I rather they ban everything. That way we'll finally united as a community !

All the cool guns are gone anyways and more being added daily. Im not going to shoot a lame ass .22 or some fudd duck gun to fill the void in my hobby !

It doesn't matter how I try to sell it to myself this is always how I end up feeling too.

Apparently an M1 can be converted to a BM59

As far as I can tell it’s still an M1 reciever and should be legal

huh, interesting... But I'd want to do this on a second receiver and not fk around my 'actual' m1.

Also, I wonder if stanag .308 magazines could work... with a modified receiver of course (which you're already milling)

Heck I'd 'settle' for being able to use Valmet .308 mags as well :D

This mod can be done using M14/M305 magazines or BM59 magazines.
